If you can’t make an A in Meeks class, you should drop out of the program.

Since this thread is a review of LSUS, here is mine.

Overall, I think it is a pretty good program. I started in Jan of 2017. The biggest changes in my time was them disallowing textbooks, not requiring a couple of prerequisites, and the addition of more specializations. In those actions I think they are 1 for 3.

Textbooks should never be limited in an educational curriculum. It is preposterous and short sighted of them to restrict students to homemade or outdated learning material. I understand that they are trying to keep
cost down, however the material is the basis of their program. Find another way to drive down costs.

The liftjng the requirements of a couple of prerequisites is another sign of them cheapening their program. Of course, I could be a little bitter because I had to take them under the old requirements. However, there were noticeably some students in my classes that had no business being there. They consumed the professors time on basic questions. I hope the professors were strict in their grading and didn’t give these people a free pass.

I think adding the specializations was a good idea. While I only went with a general MBA, I think this will appeal to more students in the future. A real estate specialization would have greatly received my attention.

Overall, I’m happy I completed the program. I’m proud of my degree and I do not want them to cheapen it. It took me right at 2 years to complete the program at age 34 I have a wife, 2 kids and a career. In fact I accepted a new job along the way, sold our house, moved into an apartment for 3 months while we remodeled a house, moved into the house, and still maintained a 4.0 GPA. So, if I can do it, all of you can.

It was hard for me to put some of the things into my own words. I’m curious if he really takes off.

On a scale of 1-10 how hard were the qualitative questions? I’m trying to decide if I am going to take the exam today or tomorrow.

ISDS 715 Project Mngmt classmates:

Have y'all noticed that the syllabus shows that we are to have 7 weekly quizzes @ 70 points each, however the weekly schedule only shows a quiz the first 6 weeks and a final the 7th week?

I emailed the professor about this last week but he has not responded to the last 2 emails that I have sent him.

Looking back, I really thought MKT 701 was one of the best courses in the program. It was incredibly demanding but that is to be expected of graduate level courses.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed a finishing it and a breeze course with ISDS 705 but I would not want all courses to be like that.

Thanks socal, unfortunately I have one more after this. I'm on my 10th course but I missed the prereq changes by one term, so I took one of those.

My thoughts of ISDS 715 are not favorable at this time (one and a half weeks into the class).

Here are my thoughts to reach that conclusion:
-No communication. No discussion board to engage with the instructor or other students. No team assignments. Nothing.

-Poor Materials. The first week only consisted of 35 pages of a ppt presentation. The ppt had very little organization and was hard to follow, imo.

-Evaluation Method. You are evaluated by 6 weekly quizzes, a final, and 6 weekly projects. The first exam consisted of around 30 t/f, multiple choice, and fill in the blank questions. Procored through proctorio. It was sort of difficult format with requirements to pick all correct answers. Have not yet received grades on first assignment so can't comment on grading, although there was little guidance on how to complete the assignment.

This is my 10th course in the program and it is by far the worst atmosphere. I really considered dropping it but I'm just about to graduate, hopefully.

Yep. Proctorio is nothing compared to Proctor U.

Is there anyone on here in the Project Management Class?

Module 1 has been opened. However, there is only 35 slides of ppt material. No templates or detailed instructions for the assignment, no discussion forum, and the quiz is hidden for now.

I'm trying to stay positive but I'm leaning towards dropping this class. This guy may be a great project manager but I'm not sure if teaching is his thing.

Getting very frustrated with ISDS 715.

It is the first day. Module 1 is not open. There is not a forum to ask questions. No text to be able to read. Nothing. I know this is his first class but this isn't acceptable. He should at least have an introduction email or forum post.

Looks like the professor for ISDS 715 has posted the syllabus.

About LSUS reputation...All I can say is that I have had two interviews recently and never heard a negative thing mentioned about the 'S'. In fact, I was offered both positions. One was a 12% pay increase, the other a 25%. And I am still 2 courses away from completion.

I had interviewed probably 8-10 times prior to starting my MBA and only received 1 offer.

I can't say the LSUS MBA was the absolute difference maker but I think it showed to employers my dedication to continue my education even when it isn't convenient (35 w/ 2 kids and a full time demanding career)

No, I'm from Mobile. I've been here 5 years and met some great people. Andalusia is a great place to raise a family.

Nothing has been posted as in ISDS 715 (project management). I wish I has the syllabus or text book requirements to get a head start. Never had a teacher wait this long to post.

Officially done with ECON!

One ISDS exam to go. Really ready for the break. My drive has diminished significantly.
