re: The Last Kingdom- board thoughts

Good series, but the sense of scale was off. It just felt like a few dozen people fighting a few dozen other people. (budget constraints no doubt)

Flat earthers have low IQ. Moon landing deniers just a notch above them.

re: Oblivion Remake could shadow drop as early as tomorrow

Biggest issue with Oblivion was the level scaling.
Skyrim wasn’t as bad, Morrowind was near perfect.
Hopefully this remaster fixes it.

At the ballon bungee jump scene, he grabs the girl and the jets skis all collide. What was their plan? If they got to the girl first, they still would have all collided.
Stupid movie.
Stupid movie.
re: How would you rank them in their prime?

I know there was a thread on this a few years ago, but I also get this mixed up...how does this ranking work?
If you have 3 girls in a pic A,B,C, then rank them 2,3,1...are you saying that girl A is 2, B is 3, and C is 1 -or- is A always 1, B always 2, C always 3 ...so A would be last in the ranking if 2,3,1?

Sort of interested in the movie now
Not what you think. Wasn't a sexy robot (or even female). Just one exaggerated emotional scene trying too hard to be funny

Good list, but Twister seems out of place. That was a typical summer blockbuster, general audience type movie.

No other whites? That's "inconceivable"
re: Japanese high schooler switches sides after every pitch
Posted by sBrodie on 3/18/25 at 12:19 pm
I'm not really ambidextrous, mostly left handed but catch and throw right handed. However, I can hit with either hand about the same. But I was told (as a kid playing in a city summer league), that I could not switch sides after the first pitch. :dunno:
re: New cars not coming with a spare tire…..
Posted by sBrodie on 3/13/25 at 9:16 am
I have a BMW 440i with run flats. They can go 50 miles on a flat. The car tells you when flat since you cant tell by looking. The sidewalls are stiff to protect the rims when driving flat. Problem is the tires are expensive and cannot be patched. Flat tire = new tire. Luckily I have a tire warranty that covers it.

Bro it’s a bunch of teen girls a year into living in a forest after a plane wreck, I don’t think they were following the rules of evidence and whatever case law is out there for convicting someone of trying to burn their cabin down because he saw them eating a kid.
So you are saying they have given up hope of any rescue and not worrying about facing any future consequences? Maybe so....

Did you miss where he had a teen girl saw half of one of his legs off and that he is starving? They know where his only other shelter is now too. What’s he supposed to hobble off and do?
We'll he is still in survival mode and out there setting animal traps and whatnot. He hasn't completely lost his mind. I would rather hobble off and give myself a chance vs facing certain execution.

And get herself killed by crazy teen Shauna?
They are all crazy.
But anyway, just loosen the rope and let him escape on his own. Should be an easy cover up for Misty as she did with the flight recorder and the murder of the girl at the cliff.

This show is losing steam fast. The adult storyline is boring and pointless (and plot-less).
The wilderness storyline...
I was able to write off some of the earlier stupid-ness due to them being influenced by some evil presence. But now that appears to no longer be the case and these idiots are having fake trials and sentencing a man to execution with zero evidence, much less meeting burden of proof.
The coach is a complete useless loser (as are most men in this show). Not only did he fail as an adult leader, but he cant even save himself. He barely defends his innocents. He is tied up with a rope but fingers are free to untie the other end of the rope, which looks to be just wrapped around a broken limb an can easily slip off the top. He appears to be unguarded in the goat pen (where did they find a male and female goat in the wild?) Misty is crying for him and believes he is innocent but doesn't free him to let him escape.
Its hard to like any of the characters at this point.
At least they writers met their gay character quota, so there's that...

I don’t understand how BWW ever got a big as it is. You are correct. The food is crap. I think they get their wings from the frozen section at the dollar store… and their chips and salsa from just a few aisles over.
And they seem to always have a packed house on weekends. Just don’t understand it.

Didn't watch the documentary, but pretty sure Daly let them lose the first game to make a point, then after a few actual practices, they played a rematch and the DT beat them by 50 or something.
re: What is the most brutal death scene you can recall in a movie?

This scene (Scanners) messed me up as a kid. Still sets the bar for me.

I don't why there is a small delay when the ball hits the screen. I own a simulator club with Full Swing Simulator and there is zero delay. Maybe it is a deferent tech because of the large screen...
