What happened to the Hannycast? That was a regular listen for me.

Well in their defense… they need to appeal to a newer audience as the older audience dwindles.

Leigh Diffey was on door bumper clear in 24 (I think) and was asked whether he caters his commentary towards veteran fans or newer fans.

His answer was interesting. “I focus on the newer fan. The older fans that have been watching for 20 years will still watch. It’s my job to make this easier for the newer fan to digest. The older fans may know more than I do, and I’m ok with that.”

I don’t disagree but bitching about cars looking different every week is like bitching about Daytona being run in late August vs 4th of July. Not nascar to blame. And it’s a moot point. It’s not gonna go back how it was before. Just move on.

It’s entirely stupid that they ever did away with both.

I’d like to see pole position count for a point, but only if qualifying is actually attempted.

I wish stage points became halfway points. Just give points to the top ten at halfway.

And I’d have a “perfect race” bonus: fastest lap, most laps led, pole winner, and leader at halfway.

I think 3 stages are just dumb. If a race isn’t official until near halfway, why award points if it’s not near halfway?

I think f1 cars are wider now. I wouldn’t say it’s too narrow.

NASCAR could do that for less than half. And they could make it work in season if they wanted to. Run a sprint/longer race format in a weekend and it could be feasible.

Promoter should subsidize the series for this. Teams shouldn’t be on the hook for travel.
