I got into some quicksand when walking the Buffalo River in Mississippi. In .2 seconds I was down to my hips.
If I didn't have a friend there to pull me out it would have gotten interesting.

I had this when I was 10. Never got it diagnosed as a disease but they said growth plate issues. I played through it but it would shoot pain up the Achilles which sucked. It eventually just went away but I ran with a slight limp for a few years.

Was always a good guy in competition though. Crazy to see someone my age get such a prestigious gig. Congrats to him.
