Yea in spots your not gonna be able to walk, but you need to check because you’ll likely be trespassing on somebody’s property if your walking. Better to float just to be sure in Springtime.

Definitely watched one happen on a Wednesday night at a youth church event of all places. Bullies were ruthless back in the day before cell phones and video recording. Kids can still suck, but was way more physical back in day compared to now I think.

Fajita marinade wife loves
3 cups pineapple juice
2 cups soy sauce
1 cup water
2 limes juiced
Marinate at least 2 hours but no more than 4 hours
Season with fajita seasoning you like. Paul Prudhomme Fajita Magic is actually pretty damn good.
Cook to medium rare and rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice thin and service with tortillas and fixings. It won't make the rest of the night.

Another vote for Dr. Andrew Hollier with BR Urology. Good Dr that actually listened and let me ask questions without trying to hurry and get out.

It’s like some people just forgot who Vince Carter was…. Yall know that guy was standing straight up at 7’2” right?? Jumped over his head and dunked it while doing it. Vince Carter is THE greatest person to “dunk” a basketball. Not saying greatest basketball player ever. But to handle and dunk a basketball… it’s not even a question.

quote:
so do you think this is because they are cutting corners or just busier and fighting labor problems like 99% of all restaurants? I eat at Ichiban often enough to feel I can say the quality of the food is still there. I can't think of a single restaurant that hasn't suffered service issues- especially post Covid. Ichiban is not immune. But I also find it a lot busier than before. I don't think your observations are the result of management cutting corners. I think they are more the result of a lack of willing, competent workers to deliver the level of service you remember. And its exacerbated by being busier than it was "when the old man was there".
.
See I don't find it near as busy as say 2008-2015 era maybe? It was always packed and so was the hibachi. I know to each is own and experience will vary, but man we used to go WAY to often and it's just the quality of sushi, portion sizes, overall quality of restaurant condition. I don't even want to say it's a worker issue. Like I see the same managers (maybe his kids?) there every time and the same issues keep happening. At some point it can't just be meh workers lazy.

WTF man?
Did you just have a bad day with people but can't tell em how you really feel to their face?..... so you just think "I'll make a smart arse comment to that guy!"
This is a food board not OT. No need to be a dick.

Thought it was a conversation about restaurants cutting corners?
Did my post upset you for some reason?

Oh I'll definitely tell you the name of one doing it. Ichiban's off Essen. I remember going back in the day and place was so clean and food was so damn good. It's still good, but you can see that since the old man isn't there anymore they are trying to go downhill. Place isn't clean as it used to be, boxes everywhere, floor and tables sticky and not clean, plates cracked chipped, sushi rolls getting smaller, krab mix not as fresh tasting.
I know this is my opinion, but me and the wife are about to write it off as it's not worth the drive like it used to be.

Fidelity for me. Everything is so easy to navigate in my account and never had any issues like ever with them at all. Customer service is very good if you need any questions answered or help with anything.

The only good thing I can remember from that town is the fried chicken at some place called Lumberjack grocery. Had a funeral for a family member at a church in town and they got a ton of fried chicken and fixings to feed the family after. I'll be damned if that wasn't some of the best I've ever had and everyone there was raving about it.
I got nothing else for that dying town.

Catfish the entire south pass area.
Drop shot rig with some heavy weights all the way up to 3oz depending on current
Catfish eat anything but range from night crawlers, cut up market shrimp, chicken gizzards, etc. You'll see guys make homemade concoctions in buckets and they are catching nice cats.
Depth finder to see the drop offs and where to anchor
Mouth of south pass going in Lake Pontchartrain will hold some fish also. Catfish, croakers, white trout, specks. Gotta watch the boats speeding past you constantly.

Manchac in spring/summer
Ruddock in fall/winter
Place will humble many fisherman because it looks so easy to catch fish anywhere out there. Then you try all types of baits and don't even get a strike.
My experience is more with bass and catfish.
Go scout when the water is low. You'll see the structure your looking to fish and where they hold. Mouth of a slough is your friend also.
Slow presentation and not as heavy a weight as you think unless wind is kicking up and you can't feel it.
Most bass we clean are full of baby crabs. More so than minnows and shrimp by far.
North Pass & middle Bayou good place to try.
Rudock is same concept but different spots are gonna hold fish and others will be dead zones. Time on the water only way your gonna figure that out.
Use this information as you will. I've fished that are since I was a kid. Drug out of bed not wanting to go but my dad wanted another body in the boat for 10 more fish.
If you see a guy named Rocket post about Manchac fishing, take it to the bank.

Everything I'm seeing is a timing belt setup for yours. Should not have chain. To be 100 percent you'd need to give the VIN to a shop to make sure, but if I was a betting man your gonna have a belt.
If you bring it to a shop, make sure water pump, belt, guides, tensioner, seals, etc get changed. Most shops know to do this and purchase kits that come with parts I just listed. $1400 - $1500 price would be my guess.
If it snaps ouch.... What sucks is you don't know what it looks like till you take the front cover off. I've seen them look brand new at 175K. Seen them about to come apart at 100K.
