I got my (no pics) a 36 Green fluted jubilee Date Just. It’s looks amazing. The process took just over a year. No prior spend. I’ve been on lists at ADs where I have spend history for much longer.
My friend got a batgirl in less than a month despite no purchase history. It’s a very subjective process of how and why people get selected.
I tell people just getting into the Rolex game to keep in touch with the AD but not be a bother. Be fairly specific in what you asking for but compromise if something different is offered; you want a Bruce Wayne but don’t turn a no date Sub. You won’t lose significant money with any stainless sport model.

I paid $750 for the last A service and $1300 for the last B service. I change the oil in my own cars for $60 each so going to the Merc dealer is never a good experience.

We just got back from Maui. We went last year too. Kauai and Kona the prior years. You can’t go wrong with any option and each option is a little different. Don’t overthink it.
We’ve gone to the well known restaurants but find the not popular places and food trucks just as good. Don’t sweat not getting a Mommas Fish House reservation.The best meal I’ve had in Hawaii was at Cafe O’lei at the Plantation which we called ahead that morning to get a table.
For Maui, there are very good options depending on budget. Kaanapali has some bigger properties (more crowded beaches) but unfortunately Lahaina is still out of commission. Paia has some homes for the DIY beach experience. Wailea has the nice resorts. We’ve stayed at the Wailea Fairmont 3 times and have no complaints (they now have reservation cabanas by the pool which I would prefer not to have). Being able to go to the beach without bringing anything because everything is already set up feels good (lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels, snorkels, boogie boards, SUPs, sunscreen, etc). I would like to stay in Hana for the next trip. We use Blue Water rafting for snorkel trips. If the weather is good, you can go on the back side of Molokini which is one of the best outdoor experiences I’ve ever done (twice now) and supposedly one of the best wall dives in the world.
On Kona, the Hilton was nice but not great compared to the Fairmont. It’s on the ocean but the beach is a short walk. It does have a super cool lagoon with a sand beach that is full of fish and turtles to swim with which is very unique.
On Kauai, the Grand Hyatt was very nice. It’s on the beach but that beach has a very strong shore break. Poipu beach is a great surf lesson spot.
Pro tip if you choose to stay at a big property. Get an Amex Platinum card and book through their Fine Hotels program. The two free breakfasts per day and $100 resort credit will pay for the annual fee by itself, but the guaranteed 4p late check out is a game changer since you will likely have an evening flight back home. You get to enjoy a full day and shower before the flight.

There is no waiting for friends when hurrying to the Chick Fil A ice chests after the show. Once they sell out, that’s it.
I’ve been to a dozen or so shows there by now. It’s the best. Bands tend to bring it because it’s special for them too.

I’ve been in Denver for several years. Glendale is a good central location for a job but won’t be the most fun place to live. There are some baller neighborhoods to the north and west like Hilltop, Country Club, and Wash Park but those aren’t geared towards young singles. My single younger friends that have good jobs live downtown by RINO or Highlands which would be about a 30 minute drive with traffic.
The outdoors is the major attraction obviously. Be sure to manage expectations especially with skiing. If you don’t have a place to stay, day tripping on the weekends will get tiresome. With biking and hiking, there are nice spots close by but to really get out, it’s about a 2hr+ drive from the city.

John Jay Park (Upper east side) has a public pool. I used to bring my kids there all the time when we lived in NYC. I was very skeptical at first about the shitshow of a public pool but that operation was run very strictly. You had to shower off before getting to the pool deck. You could only bring white towels and your swimsuit onto the pool deck. If you wore a shirt it had to be plain white with nothing on it. It was extremely orderly. There would be a line for holiday weekends so we skipped those times. On a normal weekend you could go right in and grab an open deck chair. A lady from the school system would also hand out PB&Js to kids to make sure had something to eat while not in school.

The above statement is a tough thing for people to accept.
I spend about $30k per year on two kids playing a niche sport with no pro end result who aren’t even in the recruiting window. I’m happy to pay it to have great memories with my kids while they work towards a goal. We’ll do something else if/once the window closes.
Some kids want AND have IT. Money is the least important aspect.

Completely agree. We moved away but kept our house in NO rented in case we wanted to move back. Every year the policy would not be renewed requiring a new no name company to write something to keep the bank happy. When it got to $18k with a $46k named storm deductible for raised house uptown in X flood zone, we sold the house.
If someone is able to afford a huge deductible, that’s great, but the future of the city is dependent on having everyone being able to afford that after the next big one. There will be massive amounts of defaults.

I would say they are my two favorite pizzas. John’s is across from The Blind Tiger which is an added benefit. Rubirosa is also pretty damn alright.

This is a great answer. 200 series Land cruisers are collector cars now still selling over MSRP nearly 5 years later. LX570s have retained their value but you can get very nice ones in the $60k range.
Just throwing this out there for those shopping for their wife that hauls around kids. Check out the Mercedes GLE. Amazing tech, amazing driving experience, huge amount of rear seat leg room, optional 3rd row that doesn’t take up a lot of cargo area (an issue for Toyota and Lexus right now), and decent gas mileage. It’s roughly the same price as the GX.

They are very hard to get, especially the Overtrail. My local dealer said their list is 200+ people long and they get 6 GXs per month.
Stellar Built just finished putting 74 Weld portals with a full dissent package on a 550. It clears 38s and looks great.
