Why can't they? They were a good team last year with one of the best defenses in the league.

Didn't he blast Obama recently?
Someone joked that he'd be gone and I was like nah.... Sure enough.
Then bam, he's fired 2 days after those comments.

Maria Sharapova fails drug test

She was taking medicine for the past 10 years that had a substance in it called Meldonium.
It was recently banned by WDA early this year. She didn't know and kept taking the medicine.
She failed the drug test.

You keep saying this.
Houston features the Rockets, Texans, and Astros. You have to have someone that is clutch to be clutch city.

I guess you can't be man enough to admit that you were wrong. It's ok, not really expected from Rockets fans around here.
You really want to argue that going from a 0 to a 40 score between october 13 and november 13 is not an "explosion"? You are embarrassing yourself here bro.
Just look at google news results.
The terms "James Harden's defense" resulted in 2 pages of news stories from January of 2010 to April 1 of 2014.
From April 2014 to now... which is half of the length of time... there are 7 pages of news results.
2010 to April 2014:

I'm proven right again.

The explosion began in November of 2013. It's right there in your ink
But the real explosion didn't happen until April 2014.
Ever since he joined the Rockets, then it really exploded after that video.
I have clear eyes here. As a Rockets fan, this has been talked about a lot. We all remember when this started. Ask any Rockets fan here and I'm sure they can tell you.

You can find random videos for all players. But it didn't really get big until that video came out.
Just look at the google trends:
Before October of 2013 (when he joined the Rockets), there was nothing. It exploded after April 2014:

You continue to be wrong.

The first post of mine that you responded to said:
Then you reply:
Apparently you disagreed with me that he started getting slammed with that viral video that came out and it happened "for years" before that.
You clearly were not in agreement with what I said.
But now you change the story to save face and say:
Can't admit that you were wrong. I wasn't expecting you to man up anyway.
quote:
Before that viral video came out highlight (or lowlighting) Harden's defense, nobody paid much attention to Harden on that side of the ball.
Then all-of-a-sudden, it's now become cool to hate and make little vine videos of every single lapse he has on defense.
Then you reply:

The viral video I'm talking about came out in April of 2014, dipshit.
In fact, you posted the exact video I'm talking about in your second link.
Way to prove my point.
From April of 2014, when that 11 minute lowlight video came out and went viral, it's been cool to constantly rag on Harden's defense.
Before then, he was just another "meh" defensive player. Now, every little mistake is pointed out and criticized, unlike with other players.

quote:Not like this. Look, I think I would know. Being a fan of the Rockets I know exactly when it all started.
Dude Harden has been slammed for his defense for years.
Harden was known for not being a great defender in the same way Kyrie Irving is known for not being a great defender.
But how often do you see people constantly posting low-light vines of Irving's defense? How often do people hate on Kyrie and bring up his defense over and over again?
It's not often. We all know Kyrie is a bad defender, but he doesn't get the same level of scrutiny that Harden does.
I know when this all started, so don't act like Harden has always been criticized at this level.

quote:Harden does it more. But all players have these lapses.
Not a single top 10 player in the NBA right now has that many "lapses" on defense
Most people just don't pay much attention when it's other players.

Other players aren't scrutinized like that.

quote:You forgot to mention that the Warriors also had the best defense in the league.
Meh, Blatt stressed defense too much with the Cavs. I think we are transitioning to a phase where a better offense will beat out a better defense. A product of the Warrior's fast pace offense, illegal screens, and hitting 3's normal teams can't make. The Cavs had a great defense last year with an offense that complimented it and still failed to prevail against the Warriors offense.
That's why they are so good.
They are the best on both sides of the ball.

quote:We all know he's not the best defensive player. But even still, it gets overblown because people condense hours and hours of game tape into little minute long videos of low-lights.
This wouldn't happen if it wasn't a nightly occurence for James.
You could do the same for just about every player.
Yes, Harden may have a few more plays with poor effort because we all know he's not the best defensive player.
But even still, it's a complete hack job for this one play to be making the rounds with no mention that he dropped 40 and 14 and won the game and no context to explain that he was avoiding a foul so he would not foul out of the game. That is what is annoying for Rockets fans.

For the record, this is the kind of stuff that Rockets fans bitch about and then the national media guys are like "Rockets fans are so sensitive!!"
Harden dropped 40 pts with 14 assists and won the game against a really good Raptors team, and the only thing that gets talked about is one play where he gave poor effort to avoid fouling out of the game.
