re: The CFP is the worst system for determining a champion...ever.

I agree. I think the BCS selection system was better. I would rather go back to that system to select 4 teams for a playoff.

They are saying that one week's rankings will not have any bearing on the next week's rankings.
How can that possibly be true?
At any rate, they have opened Pandora's box for teams running up the score for style points.

The eye was definitely there during the Arnsparger years.

The SEC office is not going to approve a player right before the Alabama game.

Archie Manning December 5th, 1970.
Tommy Kramer, Rice, 197?. We beat them 31-0.

There is a very real concern that at some point it could get difficult for LSU to obtain a Tiger mascot due to protests from animal rights wack jobs.
Mike's habitat is excellent. But that mobile cage would be considered an object of scorn by the wack jobs.

re: Ok Tiger Fans Who is the one team YOU hate the most?

It's always been Bama. Been that way since the 1970s. From 72-82 they beat us every year and as a 9-18 year old I learned to detest them.
I used to hate Tulane too, but I don't any more.

re: This guy puts the icing on the Bama hate

The guy has a job to do. Can't fault him for it.
But my guess is, if Alabama likes him, they'll reward him handsomely and it would be very tough for LSU to get him.
By the time Moffett retires, that guy will have been at Bama an awful long time.
At some point, Alma Maters don't matter to professionals. Vince Dooley was an Auburn grad, but he has no detectable loyalty to Auburn after 25 years at UGA. Pat Dye was a UGA grad but he is entrenched in the Auburn community. Steve Spurrier has left Florida behind; I detect no particular loyalty there either.
Sam Nader played football at Auburn and he's as LSU as they come.
It's a profession to all of those guys.

Leaving the field before the rest of his team did said more about him.

I hope Saban leads them in it. He'll look just great doing that.

That would be huge if true. He could be All American next year.

Don't know, but on another site, it was reported that Trent Richardson was there until 1230am last night.
I have also heard that most of the LSU players are hanging out in the hospitality suite at the Hilton and haven't been going out much.

re: LSU Football Players "implicated" in bar fight
Posted by Subdivision on 8/20/11 at 1:16 am
Everyone needs to stop making a big deal over the guy being a Marine.
25 years ago when I was in the Marine Corps, Marines got into fights all the time and often lost. 90% of the fights in bars that I saw Marines in (and I participated in a few) involved Marines fighting other Marines.
There are NO heroes in a bar fight. The so-called witness who proclaimed the so-called Marine to be a "hero" is this fight was probably drunk as a skunk himself.
I'll tell you right now, I am 5'8" 165 lbs and at the peak of my conditioning I could not have fought a 6'5" 230 lb athlete. The Marine Corps doesn't train Marines for bar fights or to fight guys who are damn near twice your size. HELL, THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE A FACKING RIFLE, which the Marine Corps does an excellent job of training Marines to use.
But not in bar parking lots at 0200.

Got the true story from a couple of students that witnessed the whole fight. without mentioning names a couple of players were leaving shadys when the 4 "victims" driving fast in the parking lot almost hit a player. words were exchanged and multiple players said they didn't want any problems when 1 of the victims pushed a player from the back another player knocked him out with one punch the fight then escalated with most of the players trying to stop the fight. All players left immediately. The word is that JJ and RS were gone 10 min before the fight started. Side note from a player, Les ran the whole team at practice today until they almost died then held a meeting where he said there will be a few less players come Monday. Take it for what its worth this came from a sober witness that has nothing gain or loose by telling this story. Sorry if this is difficult to read trying to send from my phone.
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS STORY IS THAT THE TEAM DID NOT PRACTICE TODAY

I disagree wholeheartedly. I think that the whole CBS coverage is second rate at best, including an over-the-hill play by play announcer and a color commentator that gets it wrong too often.
Case in point was their atrocious commentary on LSU's delay of game penalty on Saturday. They were so ready to report that the fans were booing Miles that they forgot to pay attention to the game.
Another thing about CBS that bothers me: if you look closely, their instant replay is not in HD, which shows they're cheapos too.
