Why does every student need to have free meals-- So the kids who do need them don't feel singled out?

Just give every kid a preloaded card, have parents put lunch money on it. None of the students would know who was getting free meals.
Culture

You've got conservatives who are doing well in the new economy, others who feel and are being left behind. Those who feel left behind will generally lean more and more on cultural issues as time goes on.

Home ownership costs/taxes/insurance is an issue that brings most all conservatives together. Wish we'd focus more there, esp on a State level.

What's amazing to me, is they had a 3rd choice they refused to back and get behind in Sliwa. The Republican candidate. They don't like him for the dumbest reason...the Guardian Angels beret. WASPy Upper East Siders are like that though--substance and policy come second.

The Ackman/Manhattan wing of NYC politics refused to back him, yet didn't run anyone against him in the GOP primary to hedge their bets. Then, they demanded that he drop out to Cuomo, the disgraced, covid-killer former gov who lost his Democrat primary who doesn't even live in the city, who barely gets out to campaign. Cuomo is running one of the worst, most entitled campaigns I've ever seen.

Cuomo and Ackman have run one of the most entitled campaigns I've ever seen in politics.

Covid granny killer, non NYC resident, who cost the state $60m in taxpayer funds to address his sexual harassment charges, lost his primary in humiliating fashion, now wants to bully his way into the Mayor's seat and demands that R Nominee Sliwa drops out.

Then you've got Ackman who's trying to choose a NYC mayor from the Hamptons. I'm sure NYC residents are going to respond really well to that! I couldn't imagine a campaign with worse candidate and optics if I tried.

Sliwa was right to tell Cuomo and Ackman to frick off. Cuomo has earned nothing, deserves nothing.
It has taught me how some brokers carry their own share inventory in these very liquid names.

MSC Yacht Club is still great.

My favorite perk is when swipe your room key on the elevator, and it bypasses all of the floors and people in steerage who are calling for the elevator
‘Chef’s Kiss’ got close, but ‘Problematic’ is still the worst.

I am jealous that they get to write off their home insurance and I do not.
The biggest rule of black politics is to never speak on their behalf.

White dems are the absolute worst offenders.
When Dems were in power, they were killing it on purpose with the social equity poison pills they would tie it down with, 1) to ensure it would NOT pass, 2) So they could blame the GOP for it not passing. They refused to put clean, simple bills to the floor re: this issue.

Ex: Why do we need a certain % of dispensary owners to be minorities? That shouldn't be tied to reclassification/decrim/legalization. That is another issue entirely. But they tie stuff like that in to ensure any legalization legislation doesn't pass.

My guess is big pharma/alcohol put them up to it. It allows dems to look like the good guys, while still doing Big Corp's bidding.

They got a good cop bad cop routine going.

Let's see how everything plays out before getting too excited or disappointed.
I don't like it either. But to play Devil's Advocate, would you rather poor trash divide themselves over race, or do you want these all these people uniting against wealthy folks?

They're gonna think life is unfair either way, they're gonna fight against something....maybe poor vs poor is the best solution here.

This is such a pathetic thread.

Imagine being 40 and still crying about this.
I take advantage of the BOGO ground beef sales at Bootheel7 from Wyoming. Comes out to less than the grocery store. Amazing taste. Should have their BOGO coming up here soon.

Tenderloin from Costco has gotten pricer but it's a treat to begin with.

I don't buy the other cuts.
Not my style, but I do think he will have more edge and will be funnier now that he's off network TV.

Network TV is too manicured, too manufactured, and the lack of sincerity sticks out like a sore thumb. It's a relic of the Cold War that still hasn't found an answer to youtube.

Put out a lineup of with the likes of The Office/30 Rock/Parks and Rec and maybe I'll stick around for propaganda hour w/ the late night hosts.

Right now, I would take JD Vance in a heartbeat.

Absolutely

Do the SoCons joining in with the dems and pouring gasoline on the fire realize that JD is a great candidate for all of us in '28, and the best they're gonna get?

If you split up the GOP vote and take down Trump, you're getting a democrat elected in '28. And '32. It's either going to be someone from Trump's orbit, or a dem.

I knew your little virtue signaling morality rant was disingenuous

This is the social conservative version of virtue signaling.

You can feel bad about those kids and the tragedy of what happened without suddenly vaulting it to the top of what is most politically important. You can be disappointed with how Trump handled this without believing it's the end of the world.

Then you go into this morality bullshite. Politically I care about issues that hit closest to my family and my wallet. So do you--I don't care how socially conservative you are. Epstein is tragic, but I'm more worried about food on the table and retirement. If that's immoral, I don't really give a shite.
