We are not in a position to overpay some P4 coach who is good. We have to go mid major.

Another expert with vast knowledge of LSU’s donors bank accounts.
Emotional post. Tommy Hodson all day and twice on Sunday’s over Nuss.
Always did an impression of Bear Bryant in his earlier days claiming they were super tight. “I can do the impression because I WAS there”.

The Dinardo "Bring Back the Magic" tour was pretty special.

This does feel very similar to that. VERY exciting time to be an LSU football fan! It seems as if LSU has it's hunger back.
1996 was a night game and actually broadcasted on the radio. It WAS 30 yrs ago tho.

what am I missing with this website's infatuation with Will Wade?

I was thinking the same thing. WW can coach for sure, but he's treated like John Wooden around here for some reason.
It's copium. The fact that reality is now setting in and having a deep feeling sadness of "now what??? Our coach is gone and it's all over."
Reality will hit the OM dweebs hard!!!

Had mine stolen in 1996 and never replaced it. Me and several others had the trench coat version. Paid for the patches but was all under $100. They gave us the jacket.
It's all good let them have their moment. When they lose, reality will set in pretty quick.
I swear some of you legit search for $hit to worry about.
No Manning will EVER play for LSU. You must understand that’s a deeply rooted “hate LSU” family. That sentiment goes way back to LSU busting the elder Manning’s arse in Tiger Stadium while sporting a cast on his left arm.

I understand what you’re getting at but let me ask you one question. What happens when a coach (BK for example) signs a bunch of offensive linemen and guarantees to pay them each a million dollars per year for 3 years. Then they end up sucking, BK gets fired, and a new coach comes in and wants to get rid of those players or cut their salary?

That’s a good question. Have a stipulation in the NIL contract indicating that the salary is based on performance. Even add incentives. If a player is just flat out garbage, then they get cut or released. No buy out, no nothing. Give bonuses if they become all SEC/all Americans. Make them at least put forth the effort to earn the money they agreed upon plus any potential bonuses.

There is. He likely signed a deal for 1 year (maybe less).

So…almost definitely??

I love this era where we pay players like professional athletes but they dont have contracts and can just demand more money and leave whenever they want.

This is the point I’m trying to make. Players need to be held accountable when it comes to the NIL deals they make and realize that playing college football while getting paid a lot of money is a privilege, not a guarantee.

And ill bet you'll be celebrating the portal class LSU brings in.

Damn right I will…it goes both ways. Pros and cons for sure. But players can’t even bounce around like this in the NFL. I’m all for players getting paid, but there needs to be some sort of “honorability” when it comes to the deals being made.
This transfer portal/NIL game is getting out of hand. We have 19 year old kids transferring year after year for one thing…money. Every freaking player feels like he’s worth $10 million. There needs to be contracts in place since money is now involved. Or some sort of pay back plan. It’s the Wild West with ZERO regulations.
Color guy Mike Godfried got excited when the cop tackled the guy. Said “NICE TACKLE!!! That guy played football!” He appreciated good technique lol.

None of the Ptech schools are going to go out and get you a job, but the degree will definitely help

ITI Technical in Baton Rouge doesn’t “give” you a job, but they do help placing grads and connecting them with all sorts of plants. Maybe that’s the benefit of the $35k tuition for a 2 year program.

yeah but he wore PURPLE pants in 95 at kentucky

Right and it was hideous. Had his teams wear gold jerseys instead of purple if necessary. Idk if he had something against the purple ones or what.
