re: Ok, I'm gonna play the WHAT IF game...

Then LSU gets nothing. and for the record, if LSU lost the SECCG, I didn't think they should play for the NC.

No meltdown tonight. LSU is the superior team. Can't wait to prove that Bama at two is a fraud.

I can't to watch them all pick Bama one by one once again.
It's going to make it all the more legendary when they go down harder than before.

I've been thinking a two touchdown victory by the Tigers. I'll take it.

Besides, all of the complaints this year have been ridiculous. The BCS worked this year -- it clearly put the two best teams in the championship game. No one disagrees with that.
That is an opinion. That's the most frustrating thing about all of this is well never know. OSU won't get a chance to prove themselves on the field. Instead, Bama gets another shot. All of these pundits are sure bama is number 2, just like they were sure that bama would defeat Lsu in the first meeting. I just want to know how many times they get to be wrong before they lose some credibility.
re: The REAL PROBLEM with Alabama being #2
Posted by redwar on 12/4/11 at 2:30 pm
Agree, Bama's only merit is that they didn't get run off the field in theire previous meeting with LSU. Other than that, they've beaten Arky and a pretty mediocre Penn State Team.
re: Brad Smelley tweet: Agree or Disagree?

He's right in a way. The best thing on Alabama's resume is that they didn't get skull drug by LSU. They have no real merit to stand on other than that, and I guess that may be enough to get them into the BCSNC.

The problem is that these are all media guys. They want as much controversy as possible, that's what sells.
re: Is it just me or have television announcers just gotten that bad?

I've said it before. I'd pay extra to just have the game and field microphones. Only announcer I want to hear is the stadium play by play guy

They did have a chance to play for it. It was settled on the field that LSU > Bama. I think a re-match leaves more speculation as it excludes the rest of the field.

But I do think it should be Bama, as they are head and shoulders the second best team.
That is an assumption based on stats and a loss by Alabama to LSU. The only thing that can be proven is that LSU > Bama, as was settled on the field. I'm amazed how confident everyone seems to be that Alabama is somehow magically entrenchted at number 2. The best thing they have going for them is that they managed to play LSU pretty close while still losing. Other than that, they've played a mediocre schedule and taken advantage of a down SEC. I just find it interesting that there is a strong possibility that several other one loss teams, some of them conference champions, may get passed over for the opportunity on the field to prove themselves against LSU because Alabama managed to keep the "Game of the Century" close.

The country will never know however if Vir Tech, Stanford, or Okie State is better then Bama. We do not know that fact, because they have not played. So all elts is just raw speculation.
This. I've had this thought since the beginning of this whole stupid debate. LSU played Bama and beat them. FACT. The Debate of who was better was settled on the field. To arbitrarily decide that Bama is entitled to a rematch based on wins over Arky and Penn State, and a close loss to LSU, seems like a slap in the face to the rest of college football. It's almost like they are being rewarded for managing to keep the game close, while still losing. Bama was given the opportunity to prove that it was Number 1 in it's own stadium and failed. To exclude the rest of the field from contention and the opportunity to play for the NC on the field seems, well, wrong.

Really?

I would pay good money to watch a football game on tv with just the field noise/pa announcer.
re: Micheal Ford should be the number one tailback!!!!!!

If you have two running backs both running for about a 100 each, does it really matter who number 1 is?

Bad idea also because it was 3rd and 10, and the pass was only a 2 yard pass
Sometimes you take what you can get. I'm sure they had guys running deeper routes, but if they're covered there's not much you can do with that. I will say that I thought the 3 & out that ended with this play was the worst series of the game for Lee. Even so, he didn't make a big mistake that cost the team, like he has sometimes done in the past, I look forward to hopefully seeing a lot of improvement next weekend.
re: LSU's win not that impressive

Good analysis. looks like we're in for a 1-11 year. At least we managed to sneak by for one win this season.

I thought all of the LB's played pretty well last night.

He probably should have just run for it. I love the fact that he came back on the next play and hit Peterson for the first though. I thought that was one of his better throws on the evening.

The DA decides what to charge people with, not the police. The police do not get to charge the players once this matter goes to court, so I would think that the quote itself is a little premature.
