I understand the melt over the errors in this game, but did anyone realize that our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th hitters went 2 for 17 tonight. The bigger picture: Yes, pitching has been a work in progress, but in actuality, pitching, hitting and fielding errors have plagued this team from day one. After watching LSU Baseball for over 50 years, I’ve seen ups and downs, but given the number losses from last year’s team (players and coaches ) I was very concerned about the ability of JJ to piece together new coaches and players. IF, we make the field of 64, I will celebrate the chance to compete to get back to Omaha. If we don’t make it, I think we owe JJ another year to get us back on track and meet the expectations of LSU Baseball. In closing, I truly love the passion of the Rant and our Tiger Nation !!! Geaux Tigas !!!

I went to the event which is held every year. He spoke about the respect he has for NAIA coaches, as well as, all the other coaches around Southeast Louisiana including the high school coaches, some of which were in attendance. He said he didn’t really understand Louisiana baseball until he got here. The passion that we have for baseball down here is the best in the country, as is the talent. He spoke about the mindset that every game is a playoff game that he instills in his team. He really didn’t get into position by position. Just saying that getting the team focused on the task at hand and developing the mindset is important. Pretty impressive guy.

I would love to be there shouting that. They kept shouting that in the last Sugar Bowl appearance.
This guy sitting behind us kept shouting F the SEC with small kids in front of him. I told him you need to watch your mouth with kids in front of you.
Naturally, he didn’t. I knew the NOPD Officers by the entrance to our seats and let them know what was going on. They told me to raise my hand and they would intervene before a fight broke out. They came up and escorted him out with his girlfriend who happened to be a judge’s daughter. Everyone waived goodbye.
