re: From Dandy D - Mike Detillier - it was shameful, Selfish and cold-hearted

Believe half of what you read... But, no matter what, Alleva didn't back up his employee. Either get behind your guy or just fire him. Don't leave him wondering about his job security when it's a high-profile gig. No matter his intentions, Alleva hurt LSU locally and nationally.
After watching the dumpster fire that was Steve Patterson at Texas, I'm so tired of ADs ruining college football. Be careful because the people making decisions are largely working in terms of greed and self promotion. See the example of Patterson and then Dave Brandon at Michigan.

How Michigan Lost Its Fans
quote:
Fans are fed up of paying steakhouse prices for junk food opponents, then sitting through ads for $9,000 corporate receptions at Michigan Stadium. The more they cater to TV, the more fans get turned off.
quote:
Treat your fans like customers, and they’ll behave that way, reducing their irrational love for their team to a cool-headed, dollars-and-cents decision to buy tickets, with all the emotion of buying new tires. After a friend of mine took his kids to a game, he told me, “Michigan athletics used to feel like something we shared. Now it’s something they hoard. Anything of value they put a price tag on. And what’s been permanently banished is any sense of generosity.”
Anyone buy used iPad or phone from Gazelle?

Gazelle is a that company that's been buying tons of used cell phones and iPads. They are selling them at pretty decent prices: $230 for a 3rd Gen iPad 16G WiFi.
Anyone ever buy from this company?

I can't get on board with those Perdomo Lot 23's. Just not a good taste to me.

Yeah, he pretty much skirted the question because he knows he looks like a hypocrite. There is no answer to that question that doesn't incriminate himself.
Not a big fan of Goodell right now. He's definitely coming off as a hypocrite and "more virtuous than you" character.

Neighbor and the barking puppy
Posted by LSUDM2001 on 9/17/14 at 6:32 am
Well, next door neighbor got a beagle puppy for the kid. I'm not sure that the neighbor was that into it as I think the kid's father bought the dog and then dropped kid and dog at mom's house for the school year.
The dog is up all night yelping its little head off. They keep it outside all night. I can''t understand how the thing keeps it up so long.
Apparently, I'm not the only one bothered as another neighbor just blew an air horn into her yard.
Awesome. Any suggestions from the diabolical of the OT.

Viewing games in Texas
Posted by LSUDM2001 on 9/10/14 at 6:18 pm
Ok, I want to see Saints games in Austin, Texas. I would prefer to watch at my home and have no problem with technology. I'm pretty miffed that Justin tv got axed after I bought a Roku.
What else is there. The other sites people talk about are pretty crappy.
Any insight from the board? I can go to a bar, but I like sitting at home apwith my family.

re: What is your most memorable co-worker quitting story?
Posted by LSUDM2001 on 8/7/14 at 11:44 am
Not a co-worker, but I was witness.
Back in undergrad days, we'd sometimes go to Pancho's (all you can eat Mexican in BR). Not sure if it's still around. I think it was near the old Cortana Mall.
You would raise a flag on your table and the waitress would ask you what you wanted and bring you more food. It was a bunch of college guys just eating away.
On her third or fourth trip, a buddy was giving his order and the waitress just says, "That's it. I can't take this anymore." She took of her apron and walked right out the door.
We weren't even mad.

Buy some mannequins and place them all over your backyard making it look like they are snooping into their house.

Her only grass is in her back yard and I've been told to stay out of her backyard when I asked to get my kids ball that went over the fence.

Did you ever go over and offer to just cut her grass while you are doing your own? I mean.. we can help people out, or just laugh at them on the OT. Laughing on the OT doesn't involve any sweat, so most will choose this route.
As a matter of fact, yes I did do some FREE work for her. I pulled up a very large rock garden including border, pebbles, vegetation. In return, I took a few border stones for my yard. It took me two days.
I believe she's mad at me because her front yard is all weeds and the HOA is on her butt. She likely thinks I reported her.
I've tried to even extend the olive branch of warning her about recent break ins on our street. She walked away and didn't say a word.
Maybe not crazy, but definitely not handling it well.....
Crazy Neighbor

Crazy lady who lives next door is achieving new heights this morning. We already have established that we hate each other. She is likely somewhat crazy. She won't even look at me when she comes home.
She's a single mom with one kid. The kid just came back from what I assume was summer with dad and he came home with a new puppy.
This morning, my Saturday morning paper reading was interrupted to her yelling her head off in the backyard while her 10-11 year old son is mowing her grass. BTW, she has never done it once and either makes her son do it or begs people from her church to do it for her. The yard is a damn wreck.
Well, she's been yelling all damn morning while the kid is crying and mowing. All the while, something is going on with that puppy as it was screaming and yelping as if it was being tortured. The yelling, screaming, puppy yelping, etc almost made me call the cops. The best was I could see her yelling at him over the roar of the mower at one point.
This lady is crazy as he'll and the only reason she could buy the house is because the previous owner foreclosed after she lost her job.
Yay for the suburbs, I guess. Wish I could get this lady out of here.

Prayers for Zachary and his loving parents.
It's a tough road, but he obviously has great parents that give him a great deal of attention.

ILikeLSUToo,
I promised an update on my coworker's same situation as yours. The baby boy had the surgery and all went well. Of course, the healing period was a little tough but that was only a couple days.
The helmet was not fitted perfectly at first. I believe that fitting the helmet is a bit of trial and error. The helmet was rubbing him at first, but they got that fixed and now much better.
Baby is healing well and the mom (my coworker) is very happy with how it all went down. They had the scope version too and not the invasive one. I'm told the healing for the scope procedure is way easier than the other.
Best of luck, friend. Hang in there. You are not alone.

While I usually opt for the driving over flying, I would take this deal right now. The only issue is that you have to go to Houston and that city sucks. It has some great aspects to it, but the negatives beat them out quickly.
