He's been their ace for 3 years now. ERA aside, he always has a respectable WHIP and BB:K. It's good stuff. Velo low 90s with a nice change and slider. He's basically Zac Cowan.
With that said, we should hit him. He's not a guy that we need to be picky with. Swing the damn bat.

You don't throw Kade or Ant against Little Rock. This is not Tulane, although many of you will liken Little Rock to them. You want Kade and Ant against DBU. If they have to throw on 1 day shorter rest for supers, so be it.

Ole Miss strength of schedule is 5. I don't disagree with how it works, meaning they probably won't be top 8. But they have a nice resume. They beat the dog out of Clemson, USM, 2/3 from Florida, Vandy, and Auburn, then beat Florida again, Arky, and LSU in Hoover. They gave up 6 runs total in Hoover.

I don't dislike Oregon. I just feel that Ole Miss has a better resume and is a better team.

I feel like we get the 7, with Miami in our region, and paired with FSU. And I believe they'll give us a stiff 2 in our region. The BR regional will draw much more attention with a big test for LSU. If we get 3 cupcakes, nobody outside of BR will really give a damn.

I don't think Oregon deserves a top 8 but I think the alternative is having 7 SEC teams in the top 8, which I'd be surprised if they did. 5 is alot, 6 is pushing it, 7 seems very far fetched. UNC is the only non-SEC team really worthy.

It's more of a mental fix than a physical fix. By all accounts, he's very strong mentally so I'd expect him to hit the switch. He had 2 hits in both finales against Arky and SC and 1 hit against A&M last night, so he's not totally dead in the water anyway. I just want him to keep playing plus defense at SS, honestly.

Going 1-1 with that kind of average says alot about our pitching staff. And that kind of average will only go up. If the pitching holds, we'll be in Omaha.

Nobody is beating us 2/3 at The Box unless the pitching completely folds. And, it looks like the pitching is on an upward trajectory. Hitting can be a streaky thing, but you can lean on pitching during the slumps.

Love the faith they have in the next man up. They're playing a guy with broken bone in his hand before putting the next man in. I would be surprised if Jace does any more than try to bunt, or even lasts more than 1 at bat.
ETA: No doubt he's full of pain management stuff and padded/wrapped up, but it is what it is. I will tip my cap if he's worth a damn.
