I haven't paid that much attention this year but age is usually not the grounds for protest. They usually protest where the kids are from and/or whether they met the criteria to put a team in regionals (i.e. you are bound by certain districts and are also required to have a full fledged league and not just throw a team together).

ETA: It's equally crappy for the kids from the Oklahoma team that are being used as puppets. They really have no say in the matter - they're just going out there to play the game they love, hoping to make the biggest stage. They are not privy to all of the rules, or at least not adult enough to refuse to play if they know they're illegal.

They should just let the women fight if they want to. Sophie would wreck that little girl.

Yep. No hitter and damn near a perfect game between 3 kids, and they have pitching left.

They're good. Eastbank beat them twice in district, but Ascension beat Eastbank twice in state to advance to regionals. Ascension should have all of their pitching available for Sunday, but Oklahoma may be in the same boat.

ETA: Ascension didn't beat Eastbank twice. Kid for Lafayette shut Eastbank down, too.

Velazquez threw 5 innings once, 4 innings once, and 3 innings once. The rest of his outings were 2 innings or less, but he was also an infielder and got 18 at bats. I think he will be capable of extending.

He briefly added McLennan but left LSU, too. He no longer has McLennan on his profile but still has LSU.

I've seen quite a few skeptical that he'll contribute early. I think he comes in with a chip on his shoulder and proves to be a valuable arm right from jump.

6'4 lefty with some meat on the bones already. Mid 90s heater with control and more left in the velo tank. Yes, please. He's young but I really don't see a glaring knock on him.

I know, I know...MLB must've thought differently. Only 2 high school LHP went before him. He was picked as one of the top 10 high school pitchers. That's far from kicking him to the curb. Cleveland just didn't have the money he wanted.

This is a steal.

ETA: I think the one knock I could see is that he could be hittable for SEC hitters, despite the velo and pitch mix. By all accounts, he won't be a kid that has trouble throwing strikes.

Very cool. 2 games in Biloxi on football bye week, home game against Troy on Bama weekend, and a Friday night game before Texas.

I like Dufrene. Long with a power arm and some stuff. But also athletic and can run if he were to be considered as a position player. He's also a WR on the Curtis football team, or was last year.
