I think they both overthought it. Weis hardly tried to run the ball in the first half, which exposed some deficiencies on the line in pass pro and allowed them to play coverage. Baker tried to play contain on Chambliss and he diced the secondary up. I don't think they were outclassed, though. The 2nd half proved that we're every bit as good or better than Ole Miss or anyone else.

2 goose eggs in the Catholic League. Nuss isn't as good as I thought he'd be. Karr is better than I thought they'd be. I'll be at BM-Jesuit tomorrow but I don't expect to see anything better than Aug, Karr, Curtis, and Rummel.

Chalmette just looks small. They were also breathing hard already in the first quarter. Very well coached team, though. They just need more size and conditioning. First time watching Chalmette play, so we'll see.

We also have those 2 unique home weekends in November where football plays Bama on Sat and baseball plays Troy on Sun then baseball plays SLU on Fri and football plays Texas on Sat. You get a 2 for 1 with recruits on those weekends.
Paul Dufrene from '28 Curtis class has visited TCU and Ole Miss now after Oklahoma St. I hope we make a play for him.

I don't disagree but athletes will also wear a boot sometimes to ensure they're at 100% when they get moving in real time again. I don't doubt he's dinged but I also don't doubt that it's either just part of the process or part of the mind games.
Pickett looks like a basketball player in person. Long and wiry. He has done a good job of developing his lower half, though.

I have a feeling about Laya.
I also believe Bino will get looks at 1B, even if just in the fall, just in case a 4th OF emerges or even just to get a 4th OF some work. Braun can slide to DH in that scenario.
I'm most interested to see the pitchers and catchers in the fall.

I think our offense comes out humming to the tune of 14 unanswered. We'll take a few licks before half from the Ole Miss offense, but get to half with a comfortable, 2-3 score lead. Maybe some early licks again to start the 2nd half, but we pull away for good in the 2nd half, maybe early 4th quarter, as they wear down.
Even if I'm wrong, I just don't want to see a bunch of stupid LSU penalties and/or turnovers. If we just get outplayed, I can live with it - we will make adjustments after this game.

I think Sam will be listed as questionable or maybe probable, but another surprise will show up as questionable just to keep the blood flowing.

Will the fighting Knox Kiffins of U High go to 0-3 tonight?
The question will be whether Chambliss is quicker relative to the LSU defense and scheme or Leavitt relative to the Ole Miss defense and scheme. I think it's going to be very exciting at times for both but also very scary at times for both. Whoever can dissect, react, and take the licks will end up with the best stat sheet and results. The game may be decided by which team can contain Lacy and the LSU RB stable, though.
Honestly, I don't care if we lose every fight at the tailgate and in the stands if we win the football game.
Pops went to Scotlandville. He was in the '06 Ole Miss class.

I think the goal was for him to be one and done, but all of the QBs that transferred in gave more than 1 year left of eligibility.
