Was it? I'm sure you are mistaken. You see that First td was against a guy who is no longer at MSU. He graduated. It was also vs a soft prevent zone. Bet that won't be what happens this year.
I bet we don't put Muniz back in at center either.

Nah... It's determined by a DC... It's his job to determine! Lmao!

See you are wrong. We don't act like we own the series. But we know what we have. We told you the same thing last year. Next year maybe different. This year, no.
Just letting you know to not by the hype of MSU lost everything..... Because we didn't. And we improved....

Bless that heart man. You know as well as I do what happened with tx. But it's ok if you want to use that season in that situation as "evidence"
Scoring defense, rushing defense, and tackles for a loss. And per Diaz, he has better players than that 2010 defense had.
Keep trying.

A familiar face will be roaming the sideline as Bulldog defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in 2015. Manny Diaz, who spent the 2014 campaign as DC at Louisiana Tech, returns to Mississippi State after serving in the same role in 2010. Diaz developed 10 players on that 2010 Bulldog team who went on to sign NFL contracts, including six who were in the 2015 NFL play- offs. Diaz’ 2014 Louisiana Tech team led the nation in turnovers gained (40). MSU’s 2010 defense ranked among the top 25 nationally in scoring defense, rushing defense and tackles for loss. Diaz replaces Geoff Collins, who is currently defensive coordinator at Florida.

Won't happen. You have zero idea about what MSU has and what our proven DC does best.

Fair question. I will answer with a question that should give you that answer. Why was MSU so deep at every position including rb, WR, ol, dl, lb, and dbs....? MSU knows that success brings in great recruits. But you have to have success first. How could MSU do that? Build a program designed to build players. Red shirt everybody. We redshirted a complete class of 19. While Bama has 5 stars that play right away, MSU had 2 stars that stay for 5 years. Dak is a 5th year player and what was his star rating...3? Do you know what his passing average was prior to last year? Would you call Dillion Day a 2 star player in his senior year? What about the walk on Beckwith? Was he a no talent hack who just happened to find favor of the football god and became all sec?
We have players who have been in the system for 3 years that are ready to play now. Just like the 4 and 5 stars that are freshman or sophomores. It's the system.
Now the other side of that is we have been landing better talent, some we talked into redshirting, some they played early. Like jones, the 5. Star dl... Like James.. Ranked 12th in the nation at dl. Or Shump... The rb everybody will know at the end of this season.... Where as Robinson did horrible vs ole miss, Shump averaged 5.8 yards per carry. Then we get those few jucos to go along with it... Jung (lb) and rankin#1 juco OT in the country that will be redshirted due to depth.

I know Rankin was the top JuCo tackle but what in-state offensive linemen are you talking about? Patterson was the consensus top lineman in the state and it wan't close. There isn't another in-state offensive lineman that I can think of that we even offered.
Did you just start following recruiting. Look back at the 2011/12/13 recruiting classes. Desper was the number 1 center in the state. Just look up the players classes and rankings. Then understand that we have a massive red shirting, build them program. And it's working. It's why we are deep.

Sammy those are the weakest arguments that you could have made.
Robinson gone.... So? Never has MSU under Mullen rush for less than what Robinson put up. We told you guys last year what I am about to say. What Mullen has done with the "star system" grades has been genius. Everybody was harping on Robinson before the season. All of the success last year was with half the star power of lsu.
OLine... Yeah, this one is awesome too. It points out the above perfectly. A walk on turned into an all sec player. A couple of 2 stars that have evidently left a huge impression on the SEC! Now, if you think about it, Mullen coached these guys up. What will he be able to do with better talent that has gone throught the redshirt process and got a lot of reps last year? We have recruited at a higher level. Kept some of the top talent in the state. Like the #1 center, the #1 and 2 OG.... We also landed the top JUCO OT in the country this year and he is going to get redshirted! Why? Because we have the talent.
Defense... No. It's not gone. Yep we played a lot of guys in using the 1a and 1b system. Some of those guys were not up to par. But for the most part, the front 7s were lights out. Now throw in that the fact the nfl says we have the 12th rated cb in Calhoun... We have another top 10 cb in Redmond. Nobody doubts diaz and his coaching. Never in the short stint at Texas, he improved them. Every where he has been, he has improved the defense. According to the guy who coached a lot of MSU players into the nfl, this defense is better than what he had when here. What most fail to understand is that MSU is sold out to the redshirt and building players, not the leave early guys. On the defens... In our 2 deep... Not one single player under a junior.

Just remember....... Welter was the starting MLB in that game. This year it is Beckwith. Dak is toast.
So? One player is not going to offset the improvements MSU and Dak has made in the off season

What is it that you are not getting...
MSU replaces a walk on who was trained up to beast mode, and is being replaced by a player with a higher ceiling.... Was top in the state coming out of hs.
MSU replaces 2 players rated 2 stars each. They are being replaced by seasoned ol that were top in the state and another guy was the #1 juco.

Last year is the KEY word here;;

You can't stop his four returning receivers (as proven last year
He has his TWO leading WR's ...That's it... Look it up.
Ok.. I did. And you are in part right. Dak does return his 2 top wrs. In most cases, this is a huge plus. Not sure why in your mind it's not.
Now throw the reality that escapes you. Those two scored more tds than any others. Want to know who was 3rd? Morrow...... Guess what. He's returning.
Those 3 account for over 50% of the passing tds. When you put Brown and the other in that, bc they return too, you are seeing over 70% of the passing tds return.
Maybe...just going out on a limb here, maybe you should have ACTUALLY looked it up............"punk"?
quote:
So basically you have given me ZERO reasons that I should believe that MSU can beat LSU....
I can give you plenty of reasons.
1-Dak and his run game. You can't stop it.
2- rushing attack from the run game. You won't stop it.
3- to many receivers to match up to. All are proven.
Those 3 things are proven.... Not unknowns.
4- we are at home. And we are happy to have you!
5- per the nfl, we have 2 top cbs that will go in the draft.
6- nobody really ran on us last season. From where I am at, I see a better lb corp. remember the name Brown. This guy is everywhere... Defense, offense.. I mean you are going to hear the NAME brown in your sleep.
7- Diaz. Not one time in his career has he ever showed up to a place and not improved the defense. Not even at Texas. This is the guy that had ms st eating people up in the back field. This man puts players in the nfl. Per Diaz, this defense is far better than what he had his first time at MSU.
8- we are an experienced defense. Nobody in the 2 deep is under a junior.
9- the ol is improved. Their ceiling is higher than that of last years. If they are better, then what can lsu do to stop the total Attack of MSU. Watch for Dak, Lee, shump, Wilson, Ross, brown, morrow, grey, walley, and the other wrs? I will take those odds all day.

Yeah... they returned one more this season than last. Heck of a measuring stick
re: Who is most likely to beat Bama this year?
Posted by THEDarkhorse on 8/30/15 at 3:12 pm
Lmao... lsu returned how many last season? Come on...
Olé miss has the best shot because they get them early. Bama lost a lot of production on offense. So if they are not effective in the run, olé miss wins
Bama travels to ms st. Msu will have a better offense and has them at home. If bama makes it this far without a loss... they will leave with ine.
I think bama has a very down year with 3 changes at the qb position trying to find themselves.

I'm not sure which is my favorite! I like the diving forward roll by 65. Pretty sure that the week after this is when hev started teaching a new technique. Instead of the dive and roll, it's now the jump and stomp. Seems to be more effective too.
