re: Nearly 1 in 3 US physicians were born abroad
Posted by Suregrow on 12/6/18 at 8:50 am
Foreign born and trained doctors must go through US residency in order to practice here.
You are using the term general practitioner wrong. A GP is some one who completed medical school and one year of post graduate training but did not become board certified-common 40 years ago but not anymore. Now what most people consider to be a “GP” is a board certified family medicine or internal medicine doctor.
You are correct in that residency spots for primary care are artificially limited. Many politicians incorrectly think building and starting new medical schools are the answer however unless these graduates can match and complete a residency then they never make it the workforce

Pull your top eyelid away from your eyeball with your fingers and close your eyes. Do this repeatedly. If the contact has rolled to the back this will pop it out. I’ve done this many times.

Row crop about 3800 acres and have 150 cows. Own about 30% of the ground.

Allow the seller a little extra time to close if needed. If the seller try's to back out you can mechanic lien the property as leverage for the amount of work you have done.

How are you going to feed the cattle? This will go a long way to answering what size tractor you need. Buying hay? You have to have a way to handle it.
re: Calling MD's/Med Students

My wife is a physician and a residency director. I asked read her this post. She said that failing step 1 once and being an offshore student would not severely limit her residency options in primary care fields. If she is looking for more competitive areas of specialty then yes, this will affect her choices/options.
re: What is the most NSFW fact you know about a historical figure?

Coretta Scott King was half white. She grew up right down the road from where I live. All the old timers say she was the illegitimate offspring from Lady Bird Johnson's father. Lady Birds family was from Alabama although she is often associated with Texas. Makes a lot of stuff that happened with LBJ and MLK in the 60s interesting. Also sheds some light on the controversy surrounding Coretta's death.

re: Selma Was Very Good

Jimmie Lee Jackson was killed in Marion and not Selma. I drive by his grave everyday, his headstone is disfigured from multiple shotgun blasts. Not only is the movie not accurate but the neither are the history books pertaining to LBJ and King.

re: Best places to find older model jeeps for sale?

Don't get a CJ5 unless your under 6' and 180lbs. A decent 80s model CJ7 will cost you $5000+ and you will have to look to find a decent one for that.

I rented a house to one his daughters one time. She destroyed it and skipped out. I sent the repair bill to Wayne and he paid it. She was crazy.
re: any info on corn prices this year

Quart bags? Nah
I do put in camo bags, pallet and shrink wrap it though. I sell every ton I can bag and over half of it leaves the farm in 24 ton semi loads.

I joined this forum a while back but have never posted. I row crop around 3000 acres and always bag a few hundred tons of corn for the deer corn crowd.I should start shelling in the next week or so. I sold it last year for $260 ton, should be about the same this year. My email is LS7710@aol.com. I'm in Central Alabama.
