re: Advice on lost definition and strength
Posted by smokeswithwolves on 12/22/25 at 8:02 pm to BrewDrees95
If you’ve been cutting for a month, some strength loss is to be expected. Muscles will look less full due to a depletion of glycogen from reduced calories. I find after a week of cutting (500 cal deficit) I look very flat, and after two weeks, I begin to lose strength.
Don’t panic. After returning to maintenance calories your strength should return within a week. Muscles should look better than ever after a few days.
I have mitigated strength loss during cuts by reducing sets. I’m not sure there is a magic bullet. You’re losing weight, you simply don’t have the fuel. If you can squeeze in more carbs/fats while hitting your protein goals on your cut try to do so. If you’re going to be cutting for awhile, you could schedule a few days to return to maintenance or even a surplus before returning to cut, but there’s no right answer.
What you’re experiencing is normal basically. Don’t lose too much sleep over it.
Also, losing over 5 pounds in a month is a bit too aggressive as the above poster pointed out. But I’m guessing almost half is water weight if you’re just going by the scale, which would be right in line. Try to aim for no more than a pound a week (around 500 cal deficit)
ETA: This all presupposes that you are intentionally trying to lose weight which I guess you never mentioned. If not, the solution is simple, increase calories asap

re: What Philosopher Today Will Be Studied in 100 Years?

Bear in mind that for hundreds of years the hard sciences, theology, and the humanities more or less came under the valence of philosophy. During the enlightenment philosophy began to dissolve into various disciplines. Therefore it stands to reason we mostly study philosophy historically.
With that said, the Slovenian school led by Zizek will be studied. Badiou in France. Habermas still writing. The accelerationists led by Nick Land. Chomsky is no longer writing so I’m not sure why he’s brought up.

Slowly elevating a bunch of no-namers receiving the ball too. Drew-esque

Defense gives away the blitz call and Nuss still calls TO with all that play clock

Even if you are going to pussy out with your QB before the half, a TO could have at least set your defense. No excuse for that.

Why? Are they worth something?

By this logic that catch by the Clemson player that was stripped after his knee touched should be incomplete… which is clearly also insane

You’re not going to get anything out of D&G if your goal is to critique Marx qua Marx. Anti-Oedipus is a response to the failures of communism in France, post May ‘68. It’s an attempt to rethink desire ontologically. It’s a genealogy of various historical human societies ala Nietzsche’s (Deleuze’s model) genealogy of morals. Capitalism has a somewhat positive valence (as does schizophrenia). Without getting bogged down in the metaphysics, it is THIS discussion of capitalism that leads to the entire philosophy of Nick Land, the most radically PRO-capitalist philosopher.
You’re thinking of the discourse of the death of meta narratives. Lyotard and Derrida would be the French fries in question.
And Marx is exclusively concerned with a constrained world. He is only interested in material relations. That’s the entire point of his project.
Also, Marx was not opposed to capitalism. He thought it was necessary. He thought it was a vast improvement over feudal relations. If he was mistaken, it was in his faith that capitalism was inevitably leading to communism (D&G do not agree in the slightest, writing from the perspective of the failed communist revolution in France ‘68).
