Auburn faithful...do you miss the steadiness of Tuberville?
Posted by Presh on 11/1/15 at 10:41 am
From Jon Soloman of CBS Sports:
Auburn's loss to Ole Miss assures the Tigers of a non-winning SEC record for the sixth time in eight seasons after eight straight winning SEC years under Tommy Tuberville. The Gene Chizik and Gus Malzahn eras are boom-or-bust compared to Tuberville, who was steady (until his final losing year) but didn't always win big enough. In the Tigers' two winning SEC seasons under Chizik and Malzahn, they reached the national championship game.
Auburn is a great test case for fans: Do you prefer higher highs and lower lows from your favorite team, or a more stable program that doesn't win big enough? Georgia fans are curious about the answer.

i hated the guy back then and still do. he made one big hit on a punt return when the guy didn't see him coming and that's pretty much it. constantly out of place and slow.
go frick yourself

Having Michigan in the top 3 in the S&P and Utah not in the top 10 in the S&P is odd.

I meant Nevada...but didn't make an effort to change it.

bring back Chizik if the Gus Bus goes winless in conference play this year?
He did win them a national title.

Dooley didn't even know a 1/3 of his players names.

Was J Goodwin a FA when we brought him back after he was washed up with his 49ers stint? or an RFA...well doesn't really matter.

I feel the same way. And I also feel he's there just for pass protection as a previous poster said.
He had to be on the field a lot in the 2nd half of the Egg Bowl last season because J Robinson was struggling with pass protection.

And Tyrod Taylor is starting for the Bills. No one thought he'd be starting in the NFL when he was at Va Tech.

I think he'll get drafted 4-5th round. And will play in some preseason games.
He does look a lot crisper than last year minus the opening week @ Southern Miss.
With this topic started he'll probably have 3 ints come Saturday night.

Points will be scored.
I don't believe that A&M is the team to beat in the West by any means. That AZ St team they beat got destroyed by USC. Rice was able to move the ball on A&M as well. Arkansas again blows the lead late and loses in OT to A&M.
We can move the ball on them. They have great defensive ends who are tremendous against the pass. If Dak can get time to pass we can score.
Texas A&M's true freshman receiver Christian Kirk is their weapon. He has to be slowed down/stopped. This should be Diaz's main focus in practice this week which he knows.
MSU cannot turn the ball over on Saturday night and we have to score TD's and not settle for FGs to win.
But this is a winnable game.

And 2011. Boy, did they frick up that year. That should have been another title. But worthless defense cost us at the end. Like they have pretty much majority of the time under Payton.
New Orleans had 5 turnovers in that game. The 49ers had 0.
And still almost won on the road.
We spotted the 49ers 14pts out the gate. Had fumbles on kickoffs and Sproles even had a fumble. Sproles hadn't fumbled all year...weird things.
Defense was given short fields. That defense kept us in the game

Auburn... no idea. Their D was almost as shitty as ours was last year. Not sure how/why they were so hyped.
Auburn's own coach who is known for his innovative offense and putting up points hyped his own QB this offseason.
Well that didn't work out well.
And that team was held without a TD vs Mississippi State for the first time since he's been roaming the sidelines down on the Plains.

Well...at least they stink too.
Hated them and their fans from 2006-09.

That head dick raised everyone's expectations and turned the Saints into a juggernaut and brought a Lombardi Trophy to New Orleans.
A championship that no one ever thought the Saints would have.
besides this years draft, Payton and the front office have completely botched previous drafts and FA signings.
