Do we know about Guillory? Will he be eligible to come back next year given his injury?

You were one of those kids in high school the teacher kept having to remind to "show your work," hmm?

Kent back to TAMU - not coming to LSU

Unfortunately, TAMU infielder Kaeden Kent (son of Jeff Kent, who played in the MLB) is headed back to Texas A&M, per TexAgs.

To be clear, the list is from EA College Football 25, the video game. These will be the starting rankings in game. They should be able to change throughout game modes and depending on user success.
See the official release tweet here.
FWIW, I also didn't make the list, but I totally understand the downvotes for sharing the news

Tiger Stadium #3 on Toughest Places to Play for EA College Football 25
Posted by ArcticFox on 6/25/24 at 10:27 am
EA Sports College Football 25, the new video game scheduled for release in July, has unveiled the game’s rankings for the toughest places to play in college football.
It factors in historical home win percentage, home attendance, etc.
- - -
Top 10:
1. Texas A&M - Kyle Field
2. Alabama - Bryant-Denny Stadium
3. LSU - Tiger Stadium
4. Ohio State - Ohio Stadium
5. Georgia - Sanford Stadium
6. Penn State - Beaver Stadium
7. Wisconsin - Camp Randall Stadium
8. Oklahoma - Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium
9. Florida State - Doak Campbell Stadium
10. Florida - Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
Atrocious list, IMO. Thoughts?

re: Lineup next year?
Posted by ArcticFox on 6/4/24 at 9:43 am
This is probably well off, but just some thoughts even with the draft and portal upcoming.
Rotation:
-You'll be without Jump and Ack as well as Holman.
-Have to think it's Shores, Anderson, and potentially Herring or Noot.
-Cam Johnson could make a push.
-Portal is highly likely for one more experienced guy.
-Feel like you'd love for Herring to remain in his role as 1st guy out of the pen/late game relief.
Outfield:
-You'll be without Bingham, but otherwise should be fine.
-Some combination of Pearson (if he doesn't go, he's got 1 more year and his brother coming in may be enough of an incentive to stay and play together), Kling (if he doesn't go to the portal), Brown, and Larson.
Infield:
1B - Jones is gone IMO - but would love to get him back somehow. That said, you're probably looking portal or Frey here.
2B - Milam should have that locked down, but Jay did say in the SEC tourney interviews that Milam could be a shortstop next year. Don't think we're seeing a change.
SS - Braswell should be back. I don't think we're seeing a change here as he indicated he's interested/would love to stay another year.
3B - Portal is absolutely the move here. I don't think we have someone ready to step into this role.
C - Neal and incoming freshman Priester should have us in a good position. Not worried at all, but we do lose a bit of defense in Milazzo. Have to see if Neal can improve a little behind the plate - especially with keeping balls in front.
DH: Frey is a good candidate - as is one of the odd ones out from the outfield (Jake Brown?), but not sure. A nice bat from the portal would be nice.
Rotation Depth:
-I think we're in a great position here. Will need a quality arm or two from the portal to replace a few of these guys (i.e. Ack, Hellmers, Little).
-Will have Ulloa, Coleman, Guidry, Dutton, Kade Woods, Bronzini, and Moffett potentially.
-Hurd is probably gone.
-Hope Loer moves on; just didn't seem to be the right fit. Same with Primeaux.
Staff:
-Think you give Yeskie one more year to get stuff together - would be nice for continuity after so much change in coaching over the last few years there; though rumors have flown that he's getting interest from West Coast teams.
-The staff should be relatively set if Yeskie stays. You'll never replace Wanaka and the other coaches seemed okay.
Idk - just some thoughts because I'm not quite ready to tune out of baseball season. I'm probably wrong on some parts of this and don't have all of the detail with the incoming class/portal, of course. Geaux Tigers though.

re: Coming to Baton Rouge for the UCLA game, advice please

See here from WAFB.
quote:
Time is running out to see the USS Kidd docked in Baton Rouge before it heads down south to be repaired.
The Louisiana Naval War Memorial Commission announced on Monday, Jan. 15, that Thomas-Sea Marine Constructors LLC, of Houma, has been contracted to repair and restore the USS KIDD. The project is scheduled to start in April of 2024 and continue through May of 2025.
“Maintaining a museum ship takes more than money and expertise,” said Parks Stephenson, executive director of the USS KIDD Veterans Museum. “Keeping up with the demands of an aged historic vessel requires personal commitment and passion, like that demonstrated by the staff at the USS KIDD Veterans Museum. They manage and maintain the ship with a fervent sense of dedication. We are proud to partner with Thoma-Sea in extending the USS KIDD’s life for decades to come; thus, enabling her to be admired by future generations as a symbol of the patriotic values of the state of Louisiana and its citizens.”

Some actual answers...
Transport:
Rent a car in NOLA and drive - return on Sunday unless you're with a group on the bus.
If you're thinking AirBnB, around campus is fine as long as you avoid Gardere/Lee area. I'd stick around campus, Downtown, Spanishtown, Garden District, or somewhere a bit further around Kennilworth, Perkins, or Oak Hills Place.
Hotels:
- WATERMARK Hotel
- Origin Hotel
- Sonesta ES Suites
- Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center
Where to Eat:
Breakfast
- Louie's Cafe
- Coffee Call
- The Ruby Slipper
Lunch and Dinner
- The Chimes - Highland Rd
- Elsie's Plate & Pie
- Bellue's Cajun Cuisine
- City Slice
- Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar
- The Little Village
Things to Do:
-LSU Football Game (of course) + Tailgate in the RV lot or around the Parade Grounds.
-Watch the band come down Victory Hill and perform pregame outside the stadium; swing by Mike's Cage and there will probably be some craziness outside the PMAC with bands/vendors.
-Get some beers at Rally Cap Brewing or Tin Roof Beer.
-See the Louisiana State Capitol via the Observation Deck.
-Visit Magnolia Mound Plantation.
-Check out the USS Kidd Veterans Museum near the river - though it may be leaving the dock before the game comes around.
Enjoy, welcome, and Geaux Tigers!

Why would HVL and Angel not come back?
Angel may want to go pro (but she'd make more money at the college level and would have a great shot at a 2nd title IMO).
HVL already graduated from Louisville with a degree in Finance and may not want to come back without Reese; plus, there's been some chatter (true or not, idk) about whether or not she'd want to come back again to play away from the SG position.

Worried About Blowback from Game
Posted by ArcticFox on 4/1/24 at 8:40 pm
Let me start this by saying Clark is a generational talent - the best to play WBB in history. Iowa played a great game.
That said, following the loud cheers and boos from Iowa fans as Reese fouled out, I'm worried for this team. There's been some clearly racist and unfounded vitriol against Angel Reese and this team. Now that they're knocked out by Clark, these losers got exactly what they wanted.
I just hope Kim and the girls know that LSU fans are proud of them and have their backs over all else.
Great season, ladies. You have lots to be proud of. You had your issues, but you represented us well.
Geaux Tigers.
