re: What athletes do you think could succeed on the PGA Tour?
Posted by JukeLeft on 4/11/25 at 12:55 pm
Danny Woodhead is the one who got closest to qualifying for the US Open
Succeeding is a different story..
I think its so cool how good Gary Woodland is. College Basketball player that picked up golf after..

re: Who do you want the Saints coach to be?

Honestly it doesn’t matter to me. This coach will be fired in 3 years for record even though we will have no way to improve our roster situation.
Any one of these candidates will not be set up for success.
2028 season is the re-start of the ascension.

This is going to push NCAAF to a super league.
JuCo years don't count anymore . Now you could get five years.
This is going to make it where super league (B1G/SEC) becomes the "majors", grabbing the best talent via transfer instead of high school players.
Elite HS players can still go to the super league but rosters will just be Elite HS plus portal players - Thus making the non-elite HS prospects go to mid-majors, then be taken by the super league schools later on - which creates the cycle.
I've rolled my eyes at a lot of the "spirit of the sport is gone" posts - but this would put a nail in the coffin to the spirit of the sport. I bitch, but I don't have an answer.

They make a LOT of money for the league. I don't think they will do it until they replace that revenue somehow.

Huff and Marshall admin actively hated each other. He just wanted to get out and they weren't going to stand in his way or extend him.

Sloan will be Louisiana Tech’s top target in a couple of weeks. His wife is a Tech grad and they apparently still own a house in Ruston (Squire Creek)
Top target for Tech will be Tim Rattay
not excited about either name

That’s a good thing. Shows we are interested and want to win.

I went to an international game in London and it was an absolute unbelievable time. It was better than a Super Bowl
re: Go with what you have.

This is something I have to remind myself. If my score isnt trending toward my goal for that round, i tend to pout instead of resetting the goal and going for that.

It's a sport where you care about your team and that's it. So the sport is fine.
Attendance, merch, mlb tv numbers, etc are all doing great.

This may be my favorite public course in SE Texas. Rooting hard they recover.

re: Is Louisiana the worst state for golf?

Disagree somewhat on Houston. Memorial and Gus are always packed but never have a problem with Cypresswood, Augusta and Highland Pines. Also - The Wilderness in Lake Jackson is a lot of fun.

I am not to the level of the players in this thread - moved from a 19 to a 16.5 (currently 17.1), but have been playing well the last month relative to my skill because I started approaching each hole as getting to a number where I feel I am strong.
I try to either get to 130-140 out, where I am pretty confident. Basically keeping my driver in my bag as much as possible, since it's my weakness. Any holes less than 370, I am playing 4 or 5 iron. It's helped me focus a little more instead of just trying to blast a driver as far as I can.
