This is the reason OJ’s lawyers made a big deal over the documentation, collection, transportation, and testing of evidence… also who had access to said evidence… these people can’t be trusted… and it ain’t like the state will hand over evidence to be verified by a 3rd party…

Situations like your father’s would benefit from the local police or sheriff department having a program tied to a couple of nursing homes or home health nurses in the area… who could every now and then drop in on your father just to check how he doing… just a few minutes of conversation a week… more if it’s needed… the “defund the police” thing got a bad rap… the sensible people weren’t talking about getting rid of police officers… it was about funneling some of the money away from 80k$ SUVs and other over equipped bullshite… into community programs that really would serve a purpose
