Don't bring the band into this mess. Theyre an LSU treasure!

Is LSU football really still an elite program?

Yes.

quote:

“But muh 3 titles this century” can only get you so far. 2019 was great, but we have done nothing outside of that since 1/9

Name all the programs that have done that this century. The list is extremely short. Hence the term “elite”.
Fortunately for us, specifically in the PR realm, we have an email from BK stating he was willing to negotiate the buyout. So that, at the veey keast, gives us a little bit of cover and buys us some time.

I’ll choose to believe you are telling the truth. You are wouldn’t break my heart like that would you

Again, I’m not claim8ng it will happen. I’m still skeptical as well. I do want to believe, though.

Announcement will be made tomorrow

First, I don’t have any sources. Everything I have is hear-say only.

A friend of mine has a text message from a former offensive staff member, still closely associated with the university/program that states this. It is supposedly a short-term transition-type deal where he comes in as head coach for 2 years, then hands it off to his successor: someone he is supposed to bring with him. (no clue whom that successor is). At that point, NS will step into a mentor type roll.

I still have a hard time believing that he will coach again. So I’m taking this information with a grain of salt.

We're getting a yes man as a coach. Don't think that's Kiffin.

You don’t fire a winning coach, and pay him tens of millions of dollars to leave, just to hire a “yes” man. If you’re going to 8nvest that kind of money to get rid of a guy, you’re going to look for someone with the qualities that guy didn’t have. So let’s look at the notable things mentioned about BK thst have recently come to lite: work ethic - not attending full practices, golfing and vacationing too much and at key times, and not being hands-on in recruiting. So you’re looking for someone who is a relentless recruiter, is personable, and has a high work ethic. Look for someone who is passionate about coaching. Now, there are certainly some other things that need to exist. But I don’t think a the things I listed fit well into a “yes” man. And if they did, he’s probably still a damn good coach because of the aforementioned mentioned attributes.

Didn’t we start of strong last year? I’m not falling for it again.

Anyone else find it odd that with all the turmoil here at LSU, Kirk, a Buckeye alum, still thinks LSU is the best job available?

Head Coaching changes always brings about a level of uncertainty. The people emotionally involved (I.e. the fans) always perceive the situations more tumultuous than people on the outside. 100% visible meaning of their.Yes, the stuff with Landry didn’t help. And, yes, the firing of Woodward added to it. But LSU is still LSU. It is widely perceived as a top job. The level-headed folks kept saying that once LSU named a President and an AD, things would settle down. We settled both of those unknowns today, bringing a sense of stability back to the program.
"The longer this drags on..."

Good lord. Its barely been a week.

Ummm…you won’t find a coach that has NEVER lost…or even one whose team has never had a poor performance. Saban’s LSU team lost to UAB. His Alabama team lost to ULM. Unfortunately those things happen.

The topic is not about the "other son" at LSU. I am interested in the son, a linebacker at Notre Dame.

Actually, it very much is about the “other son” because he IS at LSU and discredits your point about the LSU not be8ng able to pull in the son of a guy who hheld/holds a very high position in our athletic department. This is a very strong sign that it wasn’t necessarily about LSU, rather, one son likely wanted to get out from under his dads shadow.

Legit championship contenders don’t have to hope to “sneak in”. That’s the way mid tier wannabes who are just happy to be there think.

Although it’s a completely different format, we “snuck” into the championship game in 2003.
Youre completely glossing over the "intentional' part. Its nit intentional, therefore its incomplete.
quote:

Seems soooo far fetched that Saban would get involved with this circus. But I believe you nonetheless.

If anyone has a strong enough personality to subdue the politics, Saban definitely does.
quote:

You’re crazy if you think he or his agent haven’t already been contacted.

He stated he hasn’t been contacte. And you’re calling him a liar.
Just because he doesn’t have interest right now doesn’t mean that can’t change once he actually is contacted.
It’s possible, I suppose. You also have to consider that most of these coaches have huge egos, which comes with an extremely high level of confidence. If they’re confident they’re going to get the NiL support they want/need, they may take the bait. But the inawnricea will likely need to be on the high end for winning. There still has to be a shiny bait on the hook somewhere.
I bet thats what happened to several of the insurance providers portals we use for work. Today was a nightnare.
Frank has proven his worth with a looooooong history of quality RBs. Im very confident our running woes aren't because of him.
