cant answer why, but they did.
poor mouthed recruiting practices and academic standards
Still seems weak to me. Recruiting is recruiting, and academic standards of the Big XII aren't exactly stellar, I would say on par with the SEC.

Texas higher ups have bad mouthed the SEC to the point where they would look silly if they joined the SEC.
This seems like BS.....why would they bad mouth the SEC?

What does each SEC team make per year with the ESPN deal compared to the LHN? Thanks.

Any story on why DJ Humphries is so high on us? Have we ever had a kid from NC?
Honestly, How do we round out the class?

Are Drew, Rasco, and Johnson still viable? Jernigan, etc....
Jason Philips-UH OC
Posted by Ryan 11 on 1/12/11 at 8:49 pm
His offenses have been prolific at UH, he would further the Houston/East Texas recruiting pipeline, and has coached WR's in the NFL including: Randy Moss and Chris Carter.
I haven't seen his name anywhere and was wondering what the story on him was?
Forget the record this year, they lost 3 QB's.
Philips

True....Jerry Rice is also apparently a done deal to coach WR.

Hahaha, Macks love for GD knows no bounds....from what I'm hearing they are totally cleaning house on the offensive side.

UT Boosters are head-hunting right now, and apparently conditioning has been a major issue this year.
Moffitt to Texas??

Apparently Mad Dog is out at UT, and everyone here in Austin is saying Moffitt is a done deal.
Has anyone heard else heard this?

Butch being 58 is the only drawback.....he is arguably the best recruiter ever.

The Hurricanes earned recognition from the American Football Coaches Association for outstanding graduation rates in each of his six seasons at Miami[1]. The following players were coached or recruited by Davis in his stint at Miami: Ray Lewis (LB), Yatil Green (WR), Kenard Lang (DE), Kenny Holmes (DE), Duane Starks (CB), Edgerrin James (RB), Bubba Franks (TE), Dan Morgan (LB), Damione Lewis (DT), Santana Moss (WR), Reggie Wayne (WR), Bryant McKinnie (OT), Jeremy Shockey (TE), Phillip Buchanon (CB), Ed Reed (S), Mike Rumph (CB), Andre Johnson (WR), Jerome McDougle (DE), Willis McGahee (RB), William Joseph (DT), Sean Taylor (S), Kellen Winslow II (TE), Jonathan Vilma (LB), D.J. Williams (LB), Vernon Carey (OT), Clinton Portis (RB) Vince Wilfork (DT), Antrel Rolle (CB), and Kelly Jennings (CB)[2]. Moreover, Davis' smaller-than-usual recruiting classes are widely considered to have laid the foundation for Miami's undefeated national championship team of 2001
