No joke. We've been utter crap in basketball since we joined. Astounding how quickly our basketball program went into the toilet.

This would happen to Mizzou. 2007, we lose to OU twice, once in the Big 12 CG. Beat Illinois, they go to the Rose Bowl. We beat Kansas, they go to Orange Bowl. We sounded destroyed Arkansas in the bowl who beat LSU, eventual National Champs.

These all seem like good match-ups actually. I'm excited for bowl season! I haven't watched Texas at all this year, so as a Mizzou fan who has seen a lot of losses to Texas over the years, I'm worried. Then again, we were 1-5, so even getting to a bowl game is a huge bonus.

Mizzou - B-
We won 6 in a row and salvaged what should have been a disastrous season due to weak competition down the stretch. Their loss is our gain, but why is our defense such a steaming pile of poo? We probably had the best defense in the country which consistently bailed out our crappy offense. Now it's kind of the other way around. How your defensive coordinator can go to head coach and the defense immediately goes to crap is beyond me...
If we would have beaten Purdue, I'd give it an B+ and an A- if we beat Kentucky.
No way I can ever give this season an A or an A+ after giving up 43 points to the Missouri State Bears.

Hogs got screwed. At this point, Mizzou going there to end the season scares the crap out of me.

No way Missouri gets put in as #16. 20-25 maybe, but preseason rankings are never in our favor, and they shouldn't be.
re: Worst coaching moment for your school?

@2014 - Pinkel decides NOT to call a timeout against Indiana when they had the ball near the goal line.
edit: took out the bad calls. That wasn't a coaching mistake.

So... Does that mean mizzou returns nothing of worth this season?
We have a QB coming back with as many INTs as TD passes. Pretty cool right?

I'll take that. Far better than the 4 win seasons I lived through.
NFL Draft - Mizzou Leads the SEC

Three rounds in the books:
Mizzou: 4
Alabama: 3
Georgia: 2
LSU: 2
Miss St: 2
Auburn: 1
Miss: 1
USC: 1
Some of us are pulling our weight...some, not so much.

There are a lot of similarities between KState and Mizzou.
re: Does Missouri have the staying power?
Posted by jeremy_mu on 2/11/15 at 12:55 pm
I expect us to do exactly what we did before. A really good team every 3 years or so, then a drop when we start a new QB. By the third year, they know the system and they have a good season. It's pretty much worked that way since HCGP got started.

re: SEC expansion teams 4-0 in bowls
Posted by jeremy_mu on 1/2/15 at 10:44 am
Good thing we're Mizzou then, because we beat up on our 8-4 opponent on January 1 instead of losing to a 7-5 Notre Dame on December 31st.
Notre Dame. A team that lost 4 straight to end out the regular season.
11/08/14 at Arizona State L 55-31
11/15/14 vs. Northwestern L, 43-40
11/22/14 vs. Louisville L, 31-28
11/29/14 at USC L, 49-14
Start looking at your own house first before you come knocking at our door.

Pretty sure the Citris Bowl is considered to be a pretty good bowl.
re: Chubb > Gordon
Posted by jeremy_mu on 1/1/15 at 3:59 pm
Chubb should scare the crap out of anyone playing him for the next two years. That kid is a beast. I wish they could have an early, early draft just for prodigies like him. He shouldn't even have to risk getting hurt in college. He's ready now for the pros.
re: So the West was overrated. Who would have thought that...
Posted by jeremy_mu on 1/1/15 at 6:28 am
I find it funny when teams that were beat by Mizzou bring up Indiana. Perhaps you should be happy that your team didn't play Indiana when Indiana was healthy at the beginning of the season.
I don't care about overrated divisions, smack talk, who should have been in the SECCG, or any of the other crap. However, if you are going to talk crap about losing to Indiana, make sure you beat Mizzou first.
