re: Tuscaloosa tailgate?

We've always found success at the Central High School parking lot near campus for a great gathering of Tiger RVs and fans, including a DJ set-up.

A sporting team of unlikely teammates and their coach struggles to work together but eventually bands together in the face of adversity to achieve the unthinkable.
Hoosiers
Bad News Bears
Mighty Ducks
McFarland
Remember the Titans
Wildcats
Coach Carter
(there are likely several more that could apply)

Drop Dead Gorgeous--Denise Richards, Kirsten Dunst, Kirstie Alley, Amy Adams--all very young (well, except for Kirstie). Hysterical

We bought a parking pass by the basketball stadium (Reed arena I think) and will be tailgating there, hopefully on one of the few patches of grass. I hear there will be decent tailgating in that area. :)

I agree that the students leaving early is pathetic, but not any moreso than the majority of other "fans" who do the same thing.

I thought it was hysterical, and so original!
re: All of you with season tickets, are you going to game this weekend?

Of course! Me plus 4 others from Houston. Hope to be at every home game, win lose or draw. I'm also thrilled that so many piss-and-moaners will NOT be there. Supporting this team and its players does not have to mean loving or supporting the Coach.

Etsy has some great GOT shirts, including many nice (and feminine-ish) "valar morghulis" ones. See if this link works: LINK

I hate the Nick and Adaline...couldn't stand her before, can't stand her now. :yack:

I thought they mentioned Maggie getting Beth a butterfly (or some animal) necklace...

On the Talking Dead they mentioned that the last time a character received a gift of jewelry it was the necklace Beth received. IIRC, that was shortly before her death. Wondering if this is a bit of foreshadowing?

Apparently Manitowoc is only about 35 miles from Green Bay...

I keep willing the show to get better because I loved the books so much. A bit melodramatic with overacting, but I'm hoping everyone settles down soon enough for it to get into a decent groove.
re: LSU - Wisconsin tickets

Texans season ticket holders did have option to buy advance tickets when we played Wisconsin for the season opener; that's how I got mine. I don't think it was the same deal for Texas Bowl, but for season opener I was able to purchase not long after they announced we were playing. Don't know if same deal elsewhere.

This is, without question, my favorite thread on the Rant. Well done!

Lol. I didn't see this post, and assumed that the absurd response was off-the-cuff. I managed to get tickets at face in mid-court, 5th row. Better believe I'll be decked out in the P&G.
Apparently UH doesn't want LSU fans at the BB game

In response to an inquiry I posted on the U of H athletics site asking if individual game tickets would be offered (as opposed to the current 3 game package) for the LSU game, this was the bulk of the response I received (name modified)
My name is J. B. and I work in the Athletic Department at the University of Houston. I wanted to shoot you a quick email describing why we will not be having single game sales for LSU. However you can obtain the tickets for LSU through our three game pack or by purchasing group tickets. We have done this for 2 reasons:
1- We have placed the LSU game to be only purchased in a 3 game pack to help discourage LSU fans from purchasing tickets. We want to create an environment for that game in which we have the majority of those attending being U of H fans. A large number of LSU fans called inquiring about tickets for this game before we heard anything from our fan base, which resulted in this policy being instituted.
2- Our student athletes have been working far too hard to be playing in front of as lowly attended crowds that they have the past couple of years. By the 3 pack policy in place it will help with attendance for 2 other games this year. The boys have been working extremely hard this year and their 5-0 record shows that they deserve the support of our fans for more than just one game this season.
If you would like to risk it you can attempt a walk up purchase on game day, but that will only be happening if there are seats still available.

So, I emailed them and asked why I couldn't buy a single game ticket, and this was the response:
My name is Jeremy Bowler and I work in the Athletic Department at the University of Houston. I wanted to shoot you a quick email describing why we will not be having single game sales for LSU. However you can obtain the tickets for LSU through our three game pack or by purchasing group tickets. We have done this for 2 reasons:

That said, I tried once more, on a whim, and apparently there was a glitch, because I was able to purchase 4 together mid-court, 5th row, for $15 each.
