Well it seems the used car dealerships have benefited in the NBR area from the 1st round of checks. "New" car tags everywhere and we are averaging 1-2 a week broken down in our business parking lot.

File a claim with his insurance company and take LOTS OF PICTURES and DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. If he has Content Coverage they will cover basically anything the water touched, but he has to have good pictures of the items and if possible pictures showing the items wet (for furniture at least).

You can still get it delivered, they will just charge you a "small delivery" charge, usually between 60-100, which is probably worth it...

re: Water Heater - Where to Buy??

Its going to be hard to find anyone that will beat Home Depot pricing. Ferguson may be the only company that can get close, but Home Depot is buying at such high quantities that they control the market. If you have the option you should definitely consider installing the tankless unit. There may still be a tax credit for the tankless unit since it is considered energy efficient. Another thing to consider is the warranty. The manufacturer will not warranty a unit that is not installed per state plumbing code and some will not warranty if not installed by a licensed plumber.

Would have no problem paying if I wanted deliverable s in the estimate such as exact permits required, layout drawings, etc. However I want them to come out tell me whats the best way to do the project and a price in which I then decide who will get my business.
Like the OP stated, there are generator companies on every corner now and for companies that offer other services and do not rely solely on generator sales and installs to stay in business, they probably charge a service fee for the estimate to save themselves the headache of dealing with a customer who is going to call (12) other companies and base their decision strictly off the lowest price. My suggestion would be to find a company who specializes or concentrates strictly on generators and you will probably get the best pricing and product. Or just go with the company that gives the free estimate, has the cheapest price, and is probably insured by the General.

Is the gas meter on the same side the house as the electrical service.
Is there disconnect outside.
Do you have the original plot plan & elevation certificate
Generators are the worse for people wanting quotes during hurricane season, just because they were curious what it cost. Many get a quote and decide it is not worth the cost.

This. Depending on the Parish, Residential stand-by generators can become a pain in the a** to have installed. I wouldn't pay for a base price estimate, but if you want a detailed estimate and lay-out of the system I wouldn't be surprised if a company had some type of charge associated with it. I wouldn't want to do all the leg work for someone only to have them give my layout to someone else.

I know Trail Ridge Road didnt open back up until late May or early June because of all the snow. When we were there in May the local news station was showing one of the ski areas open and said it would probably remain open until mid-June.
