re: PELS vs thundercun...

It's been 17 months since the playoff series and it feels like it's been 17 years.

Pels keep final score within 17.

he has a point about those 3 players being out. That is literally 3 out of our top 4 players. There is no team in the league that would be a contender or seriously competitive if you removed their star player and 2 other major starters. It just doesn't happen. That's why we need players to play. Nothing else matters if that's not happening.

To be competitive, sure, it's unrealistic to expect wins with talent injured, but even when players are out teams should still be able to run offensive sets and maintain some identity. Young guys need to show improvement and tradable assets need to show some value. Last night's game was just another example of Willie being unable to construct an offense. There was so much iso that it might as well have been a pickup game.
I like Hoop de Doo but it can be a pain to get there because one can't just park or be dropped off at the show. Would need to ride a bus from the parking lot back to the show building. While it's not a huge deal and only adds like 10 minutes it could rub some the wrong way.
I like LUFU but don't think it stands out over Plume. I'd rather "cross the damn bridge."
Gayle's probably tired of firing people. Firing Willie in off-season to replace with JB probably would have meant both a new multi year contract and pay increase for JB. Having JB as an interim saves a little money and makes easier to separate if the trial doesn't work out. JB can then earn the job beyond this season or you move in new direction without another big multiyear coaching contract.

He's always been wildly inconsistent. He'll string together multiple games playing aggressive and before the Trigga gets "stuck" and he falls back to passivity. It's just who he is at this point. Hopefully the aggressive steaks last a little longer and the Stuck Trigga games are fewer.

His "welcome to the Pelicans" injury.

re: July 2025 Bar Exam Results

I went to TLS and think there's a bigger chunk that never really worked hard and never felt pressure until studying for the bar exam.

From what I gathered there are two curriculums at Tulane and Loyola. One teaches the Louisiana centric courses including the LA Code courses and one that focuses on the Multi State Bar exam.

At least at Tulane there's not a requirement to be on one track or the other so students can take a mix of common law and civil law but it seems silly to split oneself and master neither. Know your strengths. If good at memorizing I think most on the fence would do better studying common law for broader applicability in a bigger job market outside LA. If good at memorizing then LA bar isn't bad with a prep course. If poor at memorizing then take civil law classes for extra civil law exposure and lean on reasoning if taking bar in another state.
Hey, at least we're not a team that plays in the second biggest market and opened a new arena and still finished 30th in attendance.
Textbook "disputable evidence." I don't know how that was indisputable.

Haven't made it through September and Nuss has gone from a Heisman frontrunner to calls for benching. All while undefeated and down in a one score game, and it makes sense to try to MVB.
I think Coquette should be recognized at a low level. Had they kept the tasting menu option they could have been bib gourmand but as it is now I think Plate level is possible.
What's cost?

From history it looks like youre looking to buy but I'll leave up longer in case I'm wrong.

How is this a problematic question? It seems open to either side of the aisle using facts from real life.

Right. Just take a stance and support the position. Could even argue the side disagreeing with just to build a skill to articulate another's argument. There's no problem as long as teacher is grading the thought process and not the position itself.
Why so few weekend home games? I'm counting 15 Friday, Saturday, Sunday home games and 24 road weekend. 22 home games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and 12 roads. How are they going to get people out to homegames Monday to Wednesday? It feels designed to struggle with attendance.

That's a good thing? All he can do is conditioning in the next 3 months.

Injuries are never good but if a guy needs conditioning work a hand injury is better than lower body.
I'm considering but first trying to see how much I can lose in the next 14 months with exercise, intermittent fasting, and cutting calories. While I wouldn't feel any shame or need to hide it, I mentally need to at least try what I can on own before adding a GLP1 as an expensive tool.

That doesn't make any sense, they would have just swapped picks in the trade and not dealt 40 to begin with

Because teams don't know who is and isn't going to be available at 6. The trade as done gives both teams flexibility with some shared risk. If a player the Pels want to target at 6 is drafted top 5 they could be left with options they'd also draft at 7, in which case trading up to 6 would have been a waste and they'd be better with 40 as an asset. For the Wizards maybe someone surprisingly drops that they can either draft or trade down for a bigger haul.
Chicago is also known for jazz. Not arguing that it's Chicago but saying famous for jazz is a way to connect three lottery teams.
