Sanders going to Cleveland
Nope. Cleveland has two 1st round picks next year in a better QB draft.
I just don't think we're as desperate for OT as we were last year. This is a desperate pick.

OMG yes

1 (9). WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona
2 (40). QB Tyler Shough, Louisville
3 (71). CB Nohl Williams, Cal

4 (112). OT Chase Lundt, UConn
4 (131). RB Devin Neal, Kansas
6 (184). DT Jared Harrison-Hunte, SMU
7 (248). S Craig Woodson, California
7 (254). CB Alijah Huzzie, North Carolina

I'll allow it
Of course PFF had Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Michael Penix rated ahead of Jayden Daniels last year, so what do they know.
Quincy Carter? That's vicious.

No stupid, we restructured which did guarantee more money instantly

Nope. Almost all of money was already guaranteed. We just restructured to spread out the cap hit.

First one I thought of. Nightmare fuel.
I'm coming around on Milroe a bit, but still wouldn't want to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on him. Even an early 3rd would be a bit too spicy for me, but I'd let it slide if Kellen has a vision for him. Having an athlete like him at QB could be fun. If he learns to pass - watch out. And by all reports he's a great kid, which is not the case with Anthony Richardson. I think of him as a more athletic Jalen Hurts who can't throw the ball as well.
Heads up to the boomers getting riled up on Facebook or Twitter or whatever. That asshat you're arguing with in the comments section? Here he is.

The advantage of being a totalitarian dictatorship is that you don't have to care when your people suffer. No elections to worry about.
If this is what Trump thinks is going to happen, I'm worried we're screwed. Are companies really going to invest in building manufacturing that won't come online for 2-3 years when Trump may reverse the tariffs in a few weeks or months? When the next president almost certainly will? Seems unlikely. I think all this pain is for nothing. Companies are going to wait it out rather than making a long-term commitment of resources because of a policy that is bound to change.

Nah, I understand the rule. Kicking short will still lead to good returns so the offense will have good field position no matter what.

Also what happens at the end of close games? You think teams are going to risk having a kick returned for a TD on them? No they’re going to kick it out the end zone like usual and now teams will be set up even better for go ahead scores

The average field position after a "kicking short" in 2024 was the 29.6-yard line. In exchange for that extra 4.6 yards of "good field position" (compared to the 25 yd line touchback in previous seasons), we get to enjoy one of the most exciting plays in football, a kickoff return, maybe 10 times a game or more depending on scoring. Or did you like watching the kneel down kickoff 90% of the time?
quote:

No point to even return kicks anymore. Just kneel and your almost to midfield already
You don't understand the rule. You only get a touchback if the ball is kicked into into the endzone. If the ball lands short of the endzone (which is what teams will do), it has to be returned or it is put at the 20. This rule change will prevent touchbacks because no one is going to kick it into the endzone and concede the 35.

McCord, Howard, Ewers, Milroe, or Tyler Shough will be a Saint.
I like all of these to varying degrees, though wouldn't draft any until our late 3rd round pick at soonest. Of this group, I'd be most interested in McCord, Howard, and Shough - I like QBs that fit the prototype: tall, athletic, good to great arm strength. I wouldn't take Ewers or Milroe until the 5th or later, though Milroe could be a fun developmental prospect.

re: Reacher Season 3 Discussion

Was anyone else put off by how blasé Reacher was about murdering people this season? I understand the revenge angle, but he had a similar vengeance motive in season 1 and didn't come off as such a psychopath. He must have killed like 30 people this season, a lot of them straight up murder rather than a fight or shootout. Topped off in the finale by killing a helpless captive because he couldn't fine rope to tie him up. Was that supposed to be funny?

Went from 32 5/8 at Combine to 33 at proday

He was also measured at 33 inches at the Shrine bowel, IIRC. There was reporting that the measurements at the Combine were shorter for multiple players.

If you’ve followed my pro-day reporting, you’ll notice there has been a significant difference in arm length measurements at the combine versus pro-day workouts, the Senior Bowl or the Shrine Bowl.

Trapilo, who just did position drills Monday, is another example. His arm length at the Senior Bowl was 33 1/2 inches, while the combine mark was an even 33 inches. The overall feeling is the measurements in Indianapolis were shorter than they should’ve been.

The benefit would not be justified unless Ward turns out to be a possible Hall of Fame caliber QB.
This is my theory. If trading up to #1 for a QB is even an option, especially with a team that doesn't have a great QB, then by definition he is not a generational talent. No one is giving up their top pick for anything if there is a Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, or even a Caleb Williams in the draft. Bryce Young? - sure, give us a package. You want Trey Lance? Jared Goff? Carson Wentz? Come and get him. The fact that the pick is even available means the QB is far from a sure thing.
