re: How long do you wait for Dr. Appoinrment
Posted by GeauxBlacknGold83 on 4/20/16 at 2:48 pm
I would wait but I would also inquire regularly about what's going on. My main doctor is really great about not running behind but I have on specialist who I reluctantly go to. It doesn't matter if you book the first appointment of the day, you'll be there for 2 hours. Afternoon, she's always running behind, and honestly, she doesn't really seem to care. I've seen her talk to pharma reps while a patient is waiting. Luckily I only have to see her every 6 months.

Thank you all for the great advice. If you have any additional advice please feel free to share it with me.
At this time I think I have firmly decided to have the no scalpel procedure. I have my annual physical with my doctor next week and am going to bring it up at that time to get the referral to a urologist.
Thank you all again for helping provide information on this very important decision for me!

I don't think I ever said I was a 10 on the looks scale. I know I'm a 5 or 6 and I know there are plenty of women out of my league. That has nothing to do with this discussion. I honestly truly don't want children, especially to some woman I barely know.
Why do some of you think there's an ulterior motive behind this? I promise you there isn't, I am being genuine.

Also, another question I have, the recovery time. I know you pretty much have to lay on the couch for a couple of days, I plan on that. I know I wouldn't be able to play tennis (which I play 2 - 3 times a week) for about 2 weeks. Other than that, what should I know?
The other big thing is the following, is recovery feasible alone. I can arrange a friend to drive me to and from obviously, but I am single and live alone. My parents do not even know I'm considering this and will not know. If I make the appropriate preparations, is recovery by myself with no help feasible?

Yeah I figured it was expensive to freeze sperm, I had seen that on multiple other sources. I don't need it anyway, if I do it I know I won't change my mind later. Plus I don't have particularly good genes to pass along anyway, lol.
And what is it with you all and beta males, lol. Yes I am straight, 100%, but yeah I'm a beta. I've never been the alpha dog type. Why do some of you all consider beta males to be bad? I'm a beta and proud of it.

Liuyaming do you think some doctors would elect not to do the procedure on me simply due to my age? What do you think I should do to overcome any kind of possible objection by the doctor based on age?

More good replies, thanks again. I've seen several of you mention having sperm frozen before the procedure, in case I change my mind (which I'm confident I won't but an option to consider). I am not against doing that, but what are the costs associated with it? I've heard that can be very expensive.

Evil Little Thing do you think it would really be that much of a turnoff to women, even those who also are not interested in having children?
If I was 21 and saying I didn't want to have kids that's one thing, but I'm 32, I do feel like I know myself pretty well now and won't change. If something crazy did happen though it's not like I'd be out of luck, adoption is always still an option.
Heck for me I guess it is partially political, our world is so overpopulated it's crazy, I feel like we need more people like me who want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

el Guacho do you know how common this complication is? Was it just completely random or was the doctor inexperienced doing the procedure? Was your friend older, did that have anything to do with it? I definitely want to hear more about complications and side effects from this procedure.

Thanks for the responses so far, good to hear other perspectives and what to expect. As for the three questions the doctor asked liugaming, I would be answering no to all three of those questions as I am not currently married or even in a relationship. Do you think there are doctors who would actually say they wouldn't do it in my situation?
Can doctors actually decline to do it even if I am completely committed to it?

Haha thatmakessense no I just realized it was a mistake, this past year has been so crazy that when I thought back at it I was just like "wait, yeah 2013 was the last year I had sex and I had sex 4 times that year." Forgot it was 2016 already, hard to believe how fast the last couple of years have flown by.
Vasectomy: Things to consider?
Posted by GeauxBlacknGold83 on 2/5/16 at 6:24 am
No, this isn't some joke or comedy thread, I actually am considering getting this procedure done. I am 32 years old and at this point have pretty much decided that even if I ever do get married I have no interest in having children.
With that said, while I do enjoy sex I do a lot of times get nervous even with protection about the potential consequences. As I have gotten older (not old but beyond my 20s where you feel invincible) I have not had sex nearly as often (to be honest I haven't had sex in the last 2 years) out of the fear of getting the woman pregnant.
I look at a vasectomy as true sexual freedom, that I can then not even have to worry anymore. I wanted to get some opinions though on what you all think about it, especially from the female perspective as well as from the male perspective of anyone who has the procedure done.
From the female perspective, how would you look at a guy that you are considering or are already dating if he came out and said he had a vasectomy done? From the male perspective, if you have had the procedure, is there anything specific I should know about it? What are some things the average person considering the procedure might not think about but should?
I definitely thank you all for helping me with this very important personal decision.

Let her go, if she freaks out over something that small you are going to be having this type of stuff happen in the marriage.
I agree with others that it sounds like she maybe has some self esteem issues. Just be glad this happened before you got married and she could take half your money with her.

Not really, I will say technically I'm 5'7" 1/2 but I always just round that up to 5'8".

He definitely seems to have calmed down now. I'm guessing one of three things happened:
1) He's a wimpy man and the wife put him back in line and reminded him who's boss in their relationship and to stop embarrassing her.
2) Family and friends are absolutely blowing up his phone telling him he's on national TV and embarrassing himself.
3) A USC official quietly went down during commercial and probably told him to get in line or he would be gone.
Good entertainment for awhile though.

Haha I don't debate that, I feel like UNO could put together a better looking cheerleader team than the Saints do, why I have no clue. But at least she could be a part of changing that! Never mind she would be able to stay probably for at least 4 - 5 years. I have to imagine that average lifespan of a Cowboys cheerleader is 2 years max.

I agree with the other poster, I gave her my vote but really, no Saintsation, do not care.
In all seriousness though come on, how can she be trying out for the Cowgirls? I could understand if she was an LSU student but originally from Texas (since a lot of LSU students do come from Texas) or if she lived in like Lake Charles or Shreveport but she's from Gonzalez, I mean that's south of Baton Rouge going towards NOLA!
I won't lie and say I know anything about how the cheerleading business works in the NFL. I know that the Cowboys cheerleaders are the most recognizable but at the end of the day they are still cheerleaders. I mean didn't some cheerleaders raise a fuss a few years back about how badly they are treated by the NFL teams? The fact that they are paid by the game and have no real health benefits or even allowed to use team facilities if injured during a game. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I heard that. Either way it's not a full time career by any means and I seriously doubt there's a big difference in pay between the Saints and Cowboys. Maybe I'm wrong but does anyone know for sure?
Come on Jaclyn, don't betray your home state and home NFL team! Come back home, God knows the Saintsations could use all the help it can get.

Luckily the NFL South is no better than the SEC East

Otherwise we'd really be in trouble right now. As bad as we are right now at least the NFC South is an absolute dumpster fire right now and shaping up to be like the NFC West back in 2010 (when a 7 - 9 Seattle team won the division).
Honestly if we somehow managed to beat Atlanta in the Dome, beat Tampa in Tampa and sweet Carolina I think we could win the division with a 6 - 10 record, as sad as that is to think about. With that said, I think realistically if we can win those games and then sneak out another victory (Cincinnati in the Dome or Pittsburgh on the road would probably be the best chances) and get to 7 - 9 we should be in good shape.
Hey, I have to positive somehow right?

CBS has to be absolutely p*ssed about this. Their first primetime game was more about Ray Rice than the actual game and now their second primetime game they get an absolute snoozer that no one will be watching in the second half. Not a great start for their Thursday night games.
I also agree that neither of our games against the Bucs should be close. With that said, with the way we are playing on the road so far anything is possible.
