re: Feel sorry for UCLA fans getting one of our worse atmospheres ever

You referring to a team that had just blown out a conference rival and was hosting a top 25 team they haven’t beaten since 1994? It was also 81° in Columbia last Saturday.
These two things are not the same.

Were you sitting out there yesterday, because I can promise you had you been sitting on the east side or the north end zone, I personally dgaf what you think.

Couldn't be less surprised by the fact that 2/3 of the new board will be covered in static ads/graphics.

I feel like this is getting lost in all the scoreboard talk, but the sideline ribbon boards have finally been expanded to the full lengths of the east and west upper decks.

other than the North scoreboard and lights, I have not heard of any other upgrades.
That's all I've heard of too. The press release they sent out at the end of the season made it seem like additional changes were coming too, but they've been radio silent since.
Tiger Stadium Upgrades?

Has anyone seen renderings or updates on what's happening at Tiger Stadium? Tried searching through existing threads and didn't see anything.
re: Hype Videos are even failing...

As a member of the under-35 crowd... this video was definitely weak sauce. I don't care who's narrating it, but the NFL theme music and writing this time just didn't cut it for me. Chalk it up to the opponent and lack of enthusiasm, in general from the fan base, but this hype video just wasn't great.
re: Is there somewhere that announces contraflow locations/maps from Tiger Stadium?
Posted by GEAUXLA16 on 9/17/21 at 11:20 am
I think a lot of the problem after the McNeese game was that there really was no contraflow infrastructure in place. I park over in the free Parker Coliseum lot and S. Stadium is usually contraflow from Highland east to Stanford with cops controlling lights or traffic flow, but it was just one lane out which made for a massive mess. Contribute that to the lack in LEO's around campus in general likely due to hurricane recovery.

Here are some thoughts that I've seen in other places that I thought would work well.
- Consistent color for wall wraps (whether that be purple or a deep green)
- White ads on the walls
- Changes down the lines: remove first tier of bleacher seats and replace with chair backs (I believe you have to some bleacher seats in order to accommodate larger post season crowds). I tend to like the seating Clemson has in the outfields for a style that could be incorporated to replace the foul territory bleachers, even if it's detached from grandstand:
- Changes down the lines, cont.: remove the bullpens from foul territory; extend the protective netting all the way down the grand stand; build some type of cubbie under the outfield seating for the field tarp (New Dude has this)
- I've always loved the idea of outfield berm seating/gathering space with grills, picnic areas, etc. - elevating and moving the scoreboard back could help to accommodate this; Coastal Carolina's boardwalk style of outfield seating is a neat quirk:
- Would love to see a permanent batter's eye with camera well instead of that tacky metal tower they have next to the current batter's eye
- My piece de resistence: a multi-tiered restaurant with large balcony space. I know it's pie in the sky, but it could provide an interesting backdrop and give that barspace that we always want. Think SunTrust Park and the ChopHouse in RF:

re: Can anyone here effectively defend FKA?
Posted by GEAUXLA16 on 3/20/19 at 2:57 pm
The BOS may have approved his contract, but FKA was shoe horned into the position by Piyush Bobby Jindal in 2013 as the ONLY "finalist". Many at LSU didn't like the hire and the Faculty Senate (in all their wisdom) passed a vote of no confidence regarding the hire because FKA was never a tenured professor and the graduation rates at CSU-Long Beach.
Also, the BOS are political appointees by the governor. Now THAT should tell you everything that you need to know.

Haven't had a chance to see this team's power. But with the wind blowing out like it is right now (1:07pm) I would take the over.
re: “It’s not LSU on a Saturday night. And until further notice, that’ll be my answer forever”

The last non-SEC/non-Power 5 game I remember there being a really good crowd for was Western Kentucky in 2011. LSU was coming off the Game of the Century against Bama. Otherwise, no.

Make sure he doesn't make any noise and stays in his seat the entire game because there are old bags all over the stadium that look to bitch about that kind of stuff. Hopefully y'all are lucky enough to avoid that and he has an outstanding experience.

Not all, but A LOT are. I find it hard to convince myself to go into the games these days because of these old bags who complain about EVERYTHING.

Hope you weren't jumping up DURING the play!
Between the cost of attending a game and jackarses like yourself, you fools continue to question why people stop coming to the games. If a big play is happening, you better believe I'm going to be standing up, cheering my lungs off, shooting off high fives to anyone around. If you don't like that people are showing some emotion IN THE STADIUM maybe it's time to reconsider buying those tickets. Everyone is quick to bitch that the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium isn't what it "used to be." However you're quick to point fingers at people who are into the game standing and making noise and quick to bitch about students leaving.
Geaux kick rocks. :doublebird:

ACME Oyster House(Seafood/GrilledOysters)
No, no, no, no... Acme is the most overrated place to get oysters and a typical chain restaurant. Get over to Phil's (Perkins Rd. same strip center as The Bulldog), Jolie Pearl (Downtown), or Mike Anderson's.

I didn't say that it should be done tomorrow. Haha, just a thought for long-term use. At least try to make some money off having all that space.
