re: Elliott Berry and Baylen Buchanan are both likely starters this week

I honestly feel pretty good about this game as well. I think it will be something like a 44 to 37 type of ball game. We may be down some key players, but damn, we still have grown arse men playing ball for us and who will show up. Tennessee finally plays 4 full quarters, and gets it done.

Good God Almighty.... Why, for heavens sake, why can't Tennessee come out and play inspired football in the first half? I mean, is Shoop sitting on the shitter prior to the game? Is DeBord in the parking lot getting a rim job while the team is in the locker room? I am at a loss for words...

Too Bad Austin has happily sold themselves out to those Californicated Pinkos.

Keeping Kirkland out this long has kept everyone on edge for obvious reasons, and I am sure if he could go he would. Either way you look at the next two weeks win or loss wise, are huge. We could legitimately see Alabama or A&M in the SECCG again...

I know everyone is still in the dark about these two, but speculatively, wouldn't it be great to have them back this week?? I think that defensively, the secondary is going to have to step up and play lights out next two weeks. I also think this is the type of game where after having a bad Florida game and being suspended last week, that Martin could come out and have the game of his life...

Last night was unbelievable. I had to work both last night and last Saturday, so I didn't get to see it in real time. Though the years from 2008 through 2014 were very difficult as a fan base for us, I love that it has come back around full circle for the likes of Georgia and Florida. Tennessee is snatching souls this year folks...

So far this year, Martin Reminds me of the type of crap that Jumper was doing last season.... :banghead:

On any Saturday regardless of whether its Memphis or Ole Miss, it is "well patrolled."
I don't think your retort squashes anything. Vast improvements have been made to the facility and surrounding areas. I am not a big Memphis fan, and will honestly pull for Ole Miss Saturday as I played for Hugh Freeze. Memphis is still in a junior conference, and will continue to get 30,000 fans a game until or if they ever move into a better conference. At least Memphis has had a stadium completely bowled in for much of its existence (regardless of attendance).

The area outside the Liberty Bowl known as Tiger Lane has actually been significantly upgraded. Growing up in Memphis and now practicing law here, I have personally seen the transformation. The tailgating along Tiger Lane and surrounding areas are well patrolled and it's a good time.
With that being said, I wouldn't go as far as to compare it to the tailgating and atmosphere in the Grove. The Grove, in my unbiased opinion of both schools is the gold standard of tailgating in the midsouth. Yet, as long as there are people having a good time, grilling/smoking amazing food, and taking part in plenty of libations before the game, then either way you look at it, its a tailgate prior to a college football game in the South.
I too was at the Ole Miss- Memphis game last year, and alot of Ole Miss fans were in Memphis tailgating as well. So, it was a pretty awesome atmosphere of both schools coming together to create a weird Grove-esqe atmosphere.....

BBQ: Downtown Central BBQ on Butler Street is really good and probably the most all around consistent BBQ in Memphis. I personally like the BBQ Shop for their pulled pork on Texas toast. Late night BBQ at Blues City Cafe is good if you're having a late night. Their tamales and ribs are pretty on point. If you're willing to travel 25 mins to Germantown, the Germantown Commissary has good Q.
Bass Pro: I have heard the view from the top is nice, but I like the river views from the Madison Rooftop Bar better. Otherwise, Bass Pro is cool to check out from a "holy shite, they converted an arena into a Bass Pro" standpoint.
Beale Street: It's cool if you've never been there before. But, it is hit or miss depending on the type of crowd down there. I'd rather opt for South Main. Earnstein and Hazel's is a cool bar to check out. Otherwise, hit up Overton Square or Cooper-Young.

Toward the end of the season, Dobbs was actually getting alot better as a passer. If he has improved like folks say he has, the run game will be much more dangerous. Y'all keep over respecting Dobbs, that sounds like a great idea... :nana: :nana:
I think everyone can tell it is hyping your locker room for all the shite that you're cornerbacks are talking. That is good, because it is hyping us as well... We lost our games by a total of 24 points... To Oklahoma (Made it to Playoffs) To Alabama(National Champ) Florida (SEC East Champ) and Arkansas (Who beat both Ole Miss and LSU).
Florida, on the other hand somehow managed to beat Vandy by 2, and had to go into OT to beat Florida Atlantic? By the way, Northwestern was a 10 win team who wasn't as "weak" as you say, we just beat the ever loving shite outta them... :doublebird:

That same Arkansas team that also beat eventual Sugar Bowl winner Ole Miss at home? Doesn't sound too bad of a team to me..
re: You guys are going to win this week by 2 touchdowns
Posted by 42NDTN on 10/5/15 at 5:38 pm
This has to be some kinda joke. 2 touchdowns. I don't ever want to see a two touchdown lead again....
This one stings
Posted by 42NDTN on 9/12/15 at 10:17 pm
Look Y'all. This may sting now, but If we bounce back to beat the likes of Florida and Georgia, this will be a distant memory. As much as we ALL wanted this, we have to respond. IF WE BUTT sqrew our adversaries and win, this will be forgotten. If we do not, then, we may have to find someone else... I love Butch, but we need to turn this corner. Moral victories do not matter anymore.
re: I'm done - Fck Butch
Posted by 42NDTN on 9/12/15 at 10:10 pm
I'm by no means betraying Butch as a coach just because we lost today. We need to beat Florida, Georgia and Missouri. This may be A HUGE turning point for team 119. Butch is our coach. Make no mistake about it, he's no Dooley. We'll be ok. Sqrew the nay sayers, Tennessee will best our adversaries. Just wait y'all.
re: I hate to ask but, can Butch actually coach?
Posted by 42NDTN on 9/12/15 at 10:08 pm
The only thing that will redeem Butch right now is a win against Florida and Georgia. Our passing offense was inexcusable tonight. We have athletes for days at the position, and cannot dominate. Shaking my damn head.
re: According to just about everyone who isn't a TN fan, the OK game is already lost

IMO, per other posters' opinions regarding our chances against Oklahoma based simply on our defensive performance against BGSU, Tennessee actually played a quality opponent rather than a cupcake. BGSU actually won a bowl game last year, and has an NFL ready QB on their roster who merely found a hole in our DB's. Not to mention, we didn't even have Martinez there to coach our DB's up.
We actually learned more about our team week 1 than teams other than Alabama and Texas A&M. Would rather understand a weakness coming out of week 1, get it coached up, and fixed for Oklahoma rather than playing a complete cupcake week 1 and not knowing anything about a possible issue.
VOLS FINNA EAT OKLAHOMA IN NEYLAND SATURDAY YALL!

re: If you could have 1 past player back, in his prime for 2015, who would you pick?
Posted by 42NDTN on 6/18/15 at 3:47 pm
I echo the earlier sentiment, and say frick the rules.
Anyways, my top 3 choices would be 1. Al Wilson, since we may be thin at Mike this year. 2. Behind Al Wilson, Leonard Little, for the same reasons as #1 above. 3. Marcus Nash, since we may be a bit thin at Wide Receiver.
Awesome thread by the way!
