re: So, what's the latest on Alex Hurst?
Posted by brownjuco on 10/12/12 at 9:16 am
My only guess is that it must be health related family issues. Again, I have no knowledge of the situation but this would be one of the only things that I could see having enough of an effect on him to quit.
If this is the case, I wish Hurst and his family the best.

Well for some who don't spend 24 hours a day doing this crap it's not exhausted...Just trying to find out if the guy will be playing....jesus christ.

Who cares...we can't move the ball anyway. What, do we score 3 now instead of 6?

If there was one thing Jefferson was good at it was making something happen in the redzone.
Was he?
All I remember about JJ in the red zone is that he didn't turn it over.
Oh and I also remember the Tennessee debacle when he didn't realize that the clock was clicking backwards to 0....Thank you again T-Bob.

No they were a problem in 2011 too...I can't stand how people continually point to games where we played from out in front all year and just pounded the rock for the last 3 quarters. We had plenty of fall starts with JJ at the helm...Not to mention we were anemic on offense at the beginning of games with JJ (until special teams and defense got us ahead).

Why do we have to choose...can't we have offensive production and win?

That's the same thing my A/C guy told me before my compressor went out for good.
re: If You Are Not Happy With Miles' Career Results So Far

Your response lacks common sense. Results are what matter in major college football. If Miles continues producing the same results in regards to championships and won/loss record then we would be a fool to want him gone. Problems that need solving will always crop up. People get panicky because Miles seems sometimes slow to rectify situations that are not working. Despite his flaws you cannot deny he continues to produce very acceptable results. You are just a bit naive in the ways of big time athletics in regards to what is an acceptable job performance by a head coach.
I agree with your statement and fans in general are never happy unless their team wins every game.
HOWEVER, this situation is just a teeny weeny bit different.
Miles has been living on the edge of a cliff for some time now. When you do things that don't make sense you tend to have a shorter rope. He won last year and that kept away most of the haters. It doesn't say much about the fans OR MILES that after one loss we're ready to run him out of town.
re: For all of you crying for a new OC or HC/OC what specifically would you change?

I am interested in specifics. I feel I have a pretty good understanding of college football and I have my on insights but all too often the people on this board simply cry for a change. It is certainly nice to hope for better production but to cry for or demand a change without suggestion of what specifically should change and an understanding of the foreseeable circumstances is always short sighted.
What specifically would you change with the offense and what adjustments would you have made in Fla game specifically?
What would your attack be to start the game?
more shotgun formation?
what different formations?
faster tempo?
more play action?
more passes across the middle?
more out passes?
more inside/outside running?
more traps?
more option?
different personel? at what positions?
insertion of some "trickeration"?
We all agree that the playcalling is suspect. However, what most people don't understand is that it's not just what you teach, but how you teach it. If I took Nick Saban's defensive handbook and attempted to teach it, I'd fail.
The same thing is true with this. I'm not sure if Les Miles knows how to teach the fine details of a passing game...from the snap all of the way through to the catch. It's attention to detail that separates good and bad coaches.

While I am very pleased with Miles record I am not pleased with the offensive woes that we have shown this season. I don't think anyone could say they are pleased with the offense thus far, including Miles himself.
I remember a couple of years ago some guys were clamoring for Pelini or Fisher as replacements who could do better than Miles. Wonder where those guys are now. Anyone who thinks you can easily replace Miles with just anybody and get better results is living with Alice in Wonderland.
When they zoom to Miles on the sidelines it looks like he's in wonderland.

You are a person who will always be complaining about one thing or another.
Go find another team to expose your misery to. LSU doesn't need you or want you.
did you go to LSU?

That's what I thought too.

Let me rephrase...is he hurt or not?
Josh Dworaczyk

Is Josh Dworwaczyk hurt on not? Miles keeps saying he's nicked up but T-bob makes it sound like he's just not getting on the field.

Is Josh D. hurt or what? T-bob made it sound like he wasn't but all I keep hearing from Miles is that he isn't healthy????

I agree...we are to the point that the offense is so bad that resorting to primitive means would be better.
