Arkansas has been the most consistently good team in the SEC.

Without looking at actual numbers, there's a really good possibility DVH is the best SEC coach of all time (not named Stanley) until you get into the postseason. Maybe Polk.

It honestly blows my mind how Arkansas hasn't won a title under him. Now it's gotten to the point where his teams play so damn tight butthole that they won't win it.

C'mon man the kid enrolled at like 16. I went to LSU at 18 and got into plenty of trouble. If I started halfway through my HS junior year I'd be dead.

Whoever advised him/his parents to throw him to the wolves in BR at 16 is an idiot. Doesn't mean he's a bad kid, he just wasn't mature enough at 16/17 to handle it...like 99% of this board isn't/wouldn't have been.

But all he did was bring us Wade

A decision he said he regretted.

football national championship

 O gave us the GOAT season but he sucked arse outside of that. He got the 19 team together but outside of that he didn't do much in the way of recruiting.
This is what the antisemitism shite MAGA pushed has done.

You can call out discrimination but when you make it a crime it becomes an issue.

Say what you want, but CPM would not have let half these runs score.

That's been the biggest change for me. Outside of last year we've been average at absolute best fielding under Jay. I always kinda blew off being "the best defensive team" but it's one of those things you don't notice until it's bad.

You sure about that? You must be a recent bandwagon fan who started liking lsu in 2003 or later

Even in the shite days LSU was a football school.

Trust me, Verge was not very involved in this. He's gonna make the statements and he's gonna take the pictures, but he is extremely leary of this. It's way over his head.

.. it's like hiring an entire fire department and the fire department gets yelled at by the public for going to put out fires in buildings.

Except the fire isn't even in your town and you're wondering why you're paying for it. And nobody is mad at the fire department, because the fire department didn't start the fire. Even with that in mind, kinda shite analogy.

These people who signed up for the military knew exactly what they were getting into and I am 99.9% confident that they are all ready for the task

Sure. They did, they do, and they are. I want the military for power projection and, if needed, defense. Someone attacks us? Sure go at it. Shock and awe.

I'm still not a fan of boots on the ground in Iran. This was sold as "liberating the people of Iran being crushed by the regime". These people haven't stepped up as of now. I don't want our guys dying for their cause.
In ATL near the band. It was great

I’m not sure what answers you are looking for with this question. In reality this team probably isn’t good enough to contend for a national championship. It is what it is.

Honestly this is exactly what I'm getting at. This roster isn't good for a variety of reasons. On paper they should be. In reality they aren't. Why is Jay getting all the shite for that? Everyone from here to local/regional/national writers were talking about how deep this team would be preseason. You could argue they should be better.

quote:

But Jay’s job is to develop players and win games. He can still do both of those things even if this team isn’t good enough to win a championship. He will continue to help guys get better and hopefully play the guys that give LSU the best chance to win each day.

Yeah, and IMO he's doing damn near everything he can at this point. I mean I love to pull the pitchforks out as much as anyone but I can't even argue anything at this point. He's played multiple guys in multiple spots. He's given plenty of chances to guys and they don't pull through.
quote:

They also seem to have little plate discipline

This is the one that stands out to me the most. We have 2nd and 3rd year players regressing. Again, this isn't something I'm gonna bag on Jay for because we've seen him develop guys since he's been here.

Stop subbing Ruckert as a defensive replacement for the immediate future, lol.

Now? Fair. Going into today you still don't have anyone established there. He fricked up last weekend but you're gonna give a guy like that another shot. Going forward though you can't.

quote:

All the shifts and some of his decision have not been successful

I generally don't like it, but this team isn't good defensively. Generally, the shift puts them in a better alignment to mask some of that. When it works, nobody says a thing. When it doesn't, it's "a huge issue".

quote:

all started when his portal players just did not work out

There is some truth here but his hand was kinda forced. The portal largely sucked this year.

I go back to the OP though, what can he do at this point? We gave up 9 runs at home and lost the series to #8. He's experimented a ton and it isn't working.
quote:

His job

Kinda the point of the post. What part of "his job" can he do at this point? He's throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Nothing is.
Honest question. What can he do that he hasn't tried at this point?

The HS class got hammered. They missed on some portal guys that looked promising.

They've shuffled the lineup. He's given plenty of arms opportunities. He's played the young guys.

I get it, the buck stops with the HC but shite, what more can he do?
I don't wanna be that guy because I hate when people say it, but we've beaten ourselves a good bit this year. This isn't a bad team, they just don't play well consistently.

Look at the starters numbers. Not great, not terrible. Then you look at those innings in context and it's little things fielding, mental lapses, getting rocked on a bad pitch or two, and obviously errors.

There a lot to like, but it's easy to be frustrated.

What does unsanction mean here, that they will sell it as American oil?

If you can't understand it he can't explain it to you. Literally.

This oil would go on the open market - paid for in USD - and the $ would not go to the current regime.

So are we taking it? Who owns it now? I'm assuming an Iranian company or is it just some other corporations operating in Iran that owns it?

I'm not a world politics super genius like most of this board. It's a legitimate question.
