Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I need to rewatch this, as it's a phenomenal film that I haven't seent in probably a decade. But isn't the implication that they find their way back to each other despite the memory wipes?

I think that Lemmon's performance in Glengarry was the GOAT (either leading or supporting). I was rooting for him, felt sorry for him, and was disgusted by him, all at the same time. The scene where he visits the guy's house to sell him shitty property (because his wife fricked up and got on a list) makes me feel sick, but I kind of want to give him a hug once he gets kicked out into the rain.
He was a standard shady salesman for a living for most of his life. If that was still the case in the film, he wouldn't be even remotely sympathetic (which is the case for every other character IMO except for possibly Alan Arkin's, whose character was pretty dim). But now he's doing it to help his sick daughter. I wonder if his goals changing is what caused his shift from The Machine into the pathetic and ineffective salesman that he was in the film. Dude was a stud when he simply needed to provide for himself, then lost it when the pressure ramped up.
Also, to be fair to Shell Levine, the leads that he got were absolute shite. But that was probably the case back when he was still the Machine.
ETA: I'd always assumed that Mamet directed the film himself. He directed his own material with "State and Main" and "Spanish Prisoner" with great results. GGR was one of the best films ever, but the director (James Foley) has an absolutely embarrassing resume outside of GGR.

Weird that those two are fighting now that bits of hip hop have found their way into a lot of modern country songs.

This is an appropriate amount of effort to put into this thread.
If we hire Ham in the offseason, you can just start a thread called "pels" and we'll make it a season long game thread. It might eventually get up to 20 pages.

re: Would you give up a 1st 5 years down the road if it meant unloading Poole?

I wouldn’t buy him out unless he took a big cut in pay for it. And I’m definitely not throwing away firsts to get rid of him, that’s retarded. This team is going no where fast. Just see if you can get someone off another team that wants to unload a more useful player at the deadline with a bad contract. If not, just let him expire.
Does getting off of his salary even free up any amount of useful cap space? I'd assume that it would just give us enough breathing room to use a full MLE without getting up to the tax. Teams are going to view the Pels picks as pretty valuable, so you would want some decent (but overpriced) talent coming back if you're attaching first round pick(s).

I'm thinking Alvin Gentry might deserve another shot.
I'm trying to think of who would piss off Pels fans the most. Best I can come up with would be Willie Green.

Sunshine should be near the top.

Reminds me of Steve smith Sr
Proximo posted earlier that 26% of his receptions were behind the line, so that checks out. Smith was so frustrating because he destroyed the Saints (and everyone else) by being so effective off of those chickenshit screen passes. The Panthers would sometimes throw the screen to Smith 2-3 times in a row.

There are quite a few issues that are driving up housing costs for proper American citizens. Unfettered immigration and REITs are really hurting the middle and lower classes.
But when it comes to a home in this price range, limiting foreign investment would go a long way towards making this kind of home more reasonably priced. Wealthy Asians are still dumping tons of money into US (and Canadian) real estate.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember S1 being OK, S2 being a banger, S3 being OK, then pretty much all of S4 being pretty terrible (not just the ending).

So how does an employer explain to his employee with 5+ years making $30 will now be working next to a new hire with little or no experience making the same money as the newbie?
A lot of unions have salaries tied to minimum wage, so this is going to be a shitshow.
Props to Spoelstra for letting Bam keep playing in a blowout to rack up the points. If a guy comes out and scores 30+ in Q1, he should pretty much be able to dictate his own minutes for the rest of the game.
re: Do you like to host things at your home?
Posted by THRILLHO on 3/6/26 at 11:22 pm to UptownJoeBrown
I host a lot of my family's get togethers. My house is kind of centrally located in terms of where my family members live, it's fairly large, and the layout of my place is really good for events. If we cook here, my parents handle it. My mom/aunts handle cleanup. My gamgam (95 years young) frequently pays for most of the food.
So I love hosting since I get to enjoy the company of family/friends and don't have to worry about driving after drinking too much. Plus, if need be, I can take no-guilt shits in my master bathroom during the party.

Took me a hot minute to find the gif.
I don't game much anymore but this thread is tempting me to pop my ME1 cherry and replay ME2. ME2 is definitely in my top 5 GOATs. I don't remember any of the details, but I actually read the full descriptions of every planet that I discovered (even ones you couldn't visit). Some really good lore in there, and from what I recall some interesting science-based weirdness.

I've only watched since mid Q4 and it's been an entertaining/sloppy game.
Murray was trying to get the and-1 instead of just getting the two points there.

Book dead IRL, Wash dead in the universe. If it's a show, it might be best to do a cartoon set pre "Serenity".
