It became too much to juggle. We consolidated everything and just discuss purchases above “reasonable” threshold. That way we have full visibility into joint credit card, checking/savings, retirement savings, brokerage, taxes, etc.

0% raise and 0% bonus and I got laid off to boot.
EY is 6/30 year end so found out about my numbers in August and got laid off Jan 5th.
I believe the consulting firms are in for more pain in 2024....

When I looked at Houston area one I want fo say it was like $3-5k buy in (depending on promotions) and another $300/mo.

I got laid off Jan 5 after being told mid last year I was top value in pay band.
Our firm (EY) had not and has not been doing well. I’m sure there are more cuts on the horizon for them.
Update your resume and start getting lunch with people in your extended network....

We had a great sit together and he was surprisingly quiet. Had 4 young bucks come within 35 yards and he didn’t scare them off. It helped it was pretty windy to break up our sound.

Guides are out there more than anyone and I’d argue have the best perspective about the increased pressure and decline in the fishery....

It’s plain and simple Texas does not have a sustainable fishery with our population that fishes and harvests fish. The freeze was a real kill shot.
