I had one removed 7-8 years ago. No gas or sedation. Just a shot to numb the area. The maybe 3 years ago I had the other three pulled. Same as the first time just a shot to numb. My wife is a dental hygienist so the dentist she worked for did it for free. I didn't have a lot of pain. For me the worst part was biting down on the gauze to stop the bleeding.
I have State Farm and renewed in October. It went up but it was a very small increase only $200-300. With the increases I've seen in previous years I was pretty happy.

This is me. I drove a manual for so long I can't stop myself from putting my right hand on the gear shift even though I have an automatic now.

Found out my wife had no clue what this movie was the other day. Boy did she hate me when it got to that scene which I did not tell her about.

I tear up just thinking about and and flat out cry like a baby watching it.

Another for me is The Iron Giant.

Is your wife’s 401k matched? If not I wouldn’t bother with it. Work 401ks are usually pretty limited in investment options

I'm not sure if it's matched but I'll find out. She assumes not because it's a small office. We max our Roth IRA already so this would be another way to set aside some additional retirement funds.
All are in VTSAX

My rollover IRA is at 14% since inception 8 1/2 years ago.
My Roth IRA is at 14.8% since it started 9 years ago.
My wife's Roth IRA is at 15.6% since it started 7 years ago.

Question about a 401k investment option

Posted by Phate on 11/8/25 at 8:41 am
I know very little about the stock market. I'm more of a marathon kind of person when it come to investments. Just set it and forget it for the next 20-25 years while checking in periodically. I have a rollover IRA and my wife and I each max out a roth IRA. On advice I saw here I put those three accounts into VTSAX and the growth has been great.

My wife's employer is starting a 401k. There's a Vanguard option that jumped out at me. The name is Vanguard VIF Total Stock Market Index. Is this option the same as Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund (VTI) or something else? The VIF in the name is throwing me off. The only VIF in a stock ticker I see is Vanguard International Fixed Interest Index (Hedged) ETF (VIF.AX)

re: auto insurance decrease

I have State Farm for home and auto. My auto went up around $10/month for two vehicles. For now I'm staying with State Farm because my renewal this month for homeowners insurance was much lower than other options I priced.

Pre approval doesn't mean anything you can still be denied. Put your Rapid Rewards number on the application. Your card will be in your Chase account instantly but you may need to contact Southwest and let them know that you're a new card holder. I don't know how soon their system will be updated to show you as a card holder. You could also secure message Chase right after approval and request expediated shipping of the card. You'll get the card in 1-2 business days.
Haha I love that dude. At night when I mindlessly scroll through Facebook reels he pops up every now and then. Never fails to make me laugh.
I fricking love Pan's Labyrinth. Not sure why but the scene where the Captain caves the guys face in with the bottle has always stuck with me. I've seen much worse in other movies and real life stuff on the internet. But that scene has always stuck with me. It like most of the movie was very unsettling. I went into watching it knowing nothing and I left loving it.

My wife and I will be in New Orleans on Saturday so we're going to see Saving Private Ryan. I've seen it more times than I can count and still can't make it through the full Mama Ryan scene without crying but I've never seen it in theaters so I'm looking forward to it.

First episode was a lot more F bombs from Kelly than I thought he was capable of. Really had never heard him cuss before

Yeah that's what I assumed. Looks like it'll be a show for me and my step dad to watch with whiskey and a cigar.
For those that have seen it how bad is the language? I assume Netflix doesn't edit what is said but if it's not terrible I would like to watch it with my 12 year old but I assume it's going to be way too much.

Well since he said 2nd best and 1st defensive I would assume the best play in LSU baseball history is The Walkoff.

Don't know the cost but Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Illbleed.
I always liked Karl's videos. Even the ones about the lawsuit because Billy is an insufferable douche. It is pretty funny that a large part of Karl's YouTube channel is about cheaters and frauds and it seems like now people will be making the same video about him and this lawsuit.

Our situation is slightly unusual. My wife is 4 years and some change older than me and we had kids pretty young. I'll probably go talk to some specialist when the time comes. We can live on my income alone with no kids on the payroll so she'll hang it up before I do.

My wife is 6 years younger than me and she says she'll retire when I do.
