That is such a casual take. A 225LB freshman back averaging 5.3 YPC, showing decent hands, and a willingness to pass protect is definitely something to get excited about. Not to mention he showed some explosiveness in the return game. Did people allow their expectations to blow up a bit much? Yes. But to act like he didn’t have a promising freshman season is incorrect.

How is Steve Pikiell still employed?

How do you have two soon to be top 5 picks and end up 2 games below .500? They didn’t have a good roster outside of Harper and Bailey but I feel that’s on Pikiell to not surround them with more talent. I know Rutgers isn’t a traditional power but with the schools geographical location it seems like they could be a whole lot better/consistent with the right guy.

Dude are you serious? He played on the best high school team in the country, what’d you want him to do when he had Cooper Flagg, Derick Queen, Liam McNeely, and Asa Newell, In case you didn’t know that’s four 5 stars and all have a chance to be lottery picks.

According to you he couldn’t score yet in the high school National Championship game he scored 24 point leading the game. He also shot 41% from 3 his senior year.

Pretty ridiculous take to think that a 20 year old who has played one season of college basketball can’t develop. Not everyone comes in and is a star day one.

Give him some talent around him and I guarantee you his numbers improve.

36% on catch and shoot 3s which he’ll take more of at LSU. People are going to complain about this signing but you need role players.

Prior to this you had 4 spots left, I’d rather split my remaining budget something more like this:

40%
40%
10%
10%

This is probably more of a 10% signing.

What do you think we will see out of Ju’Juan Johnson this season?

With the move to quarterback and Colin Hurley’s status unclear, I assume Ju’Juan Johnson and Emile Picarella will compete for QB3.

He’s electric with the ball in his hands and with the full time reps he’s getting at quarterback, do you think we will see some packages for Ju’Juan? Or do you think this is simply a depth move. He has been shown in some practice clips coming in for red zone packages. He’s also not wearing the no contact jersey that the other quarterbacks are wearing.

I think it’s more of a projection on Miller’s development. His ceiling is very high and he showed a lot of promise down the stretch.

Plus Nwoko has not shown the ability to stay out of foul trouble so limiting his minutes while allowing him to play with max effort has to be considered.

Does Matt McMahon get the LSU job without Ja Morant?

I know there was a dark cloud over the program at the time that limited interest from some potential candidates. Even with the situation at the time would Matt McMahon have even been considered had he not gotten carried by the best player in college basketball in the 18-19 season?

McMahon had a coaching record of 154-67 .697% in his time at Murray State.

If you take alway the two years he had Morant he’s on his team he’s 100-56.
(Is this fair to do?)

Certainly Woody knew this right?

To argue this point you could say McMahon’s final year at Murray State he went 31-3 and 18-0 in conference without Morant.

Do you think McMahon gets the job without Morant? I will admit at the time of the hire I thought it was a pretty decent move.

Totally disagree and that’s no knock to the box. Basketball under the right conditions will always provide a better more ruckus atmosphere than baseball. The box is just consistent. If LSU got a consistent winner that had the program regularly ranked the PMAC would be electric.

The last time I think it was at its best was that 2019 Tennessee game when Tennessee was ranked 5 with Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams. Tremont Waters got sick and couldn’t play so Javonte Smart stepped up and scored 29 to win in overtime. The whole place was packed, the walkways had people standing all along the walls. It was almost unorganized chaos but in a good way.

At the end of the day it all starts with the students, if you get a coach who can get the students excited about the team the rest will follow.

With that being said nothing comes close to Tiger Stadium for a big night game.

This is only the 11th season with this court design. The only reason I’m even bringing that up is because I think it’s one of the cleanest court designs in basketball.
