It’s pretty simple to justify whether he deserves to play over Bianco. It’s called “batting average” and “defense”. If you do those 2 things better than the next guy it would seem he should be able to show that is the case. Does he hit good enough and play good enough defense to displace the next guy. LSU’s whole team is loaded with talent. All of their players were the best on their high school teams. Now he’s the little fish in the big pond.
BS !!! Going Oppo is more about approach than any change to a hitters hitting style. You go oppo when you're down in the count and the pitcher throws a strike on the outer half of the plate. You either learn to go oppo or learn to how to take a seat on the bench.

I don’t watch NBA basketball ever. When Lebron started with his political speech I watch never. After the whole Colon Kaperdick ordeal and the BLM branding painted on the floor I plan on watching zero. I’m all good if the NBA goes bankrupt and shuts the doors. If another league were to start up in it’s place I might give it a look.
re: ESPNU Radio-Discussing LSU Football getting death penalty
Posted by HuckFinn on 3/7/21 at 11:13 am to Tigerbyte123
I don't think this issue has anything directly to do with the sport itself. This is more of an internal issue than a sport issue. Anyone who is suggesting that LSU might get the death penalty is uninformed on the subject. Les Miles banging a co-ed has nothing to do with football compliance; nor does a player abusing his girlfriend. I'm not trying to diminish the offense, I'm just stating that it's not as much of a sport issue as it is an internal issue and Title IX compliance issue. Miles didn't violent any recruiting guideline.

So, what exactly are you saying? I think you’re being a little vague. Just come out and say what you mean and quite beating around the bush; no pun intended.
If it’s overused then why did Joe Brady feel the need to use it, along with the gloves, special glasses and implementation of closed doors etc? It may have not have been some new invention in college football to improve hand eye coordination, but it was obviously a new approach for LSU. Based on the creation of the video, it wasn’t something LSU had done previously.
I hope it turns out to be a great facility. It’s always good to see LSU keeping their buildings updated. For the longest time LSU didn’t do the best job of maintaining their facilities.
I agree that the Middleton Library has always been an eye sore. I also agree that it may be possible to repurpose the existing facility for significantly less money. However, that depends on what needs to be done to repurpose the facility to the new design. It is not out of the realm of possibility for it to cost more money to repurpose the existing facility. They want to keep the existing facility because of it’s historical value. Sometimes that means they know it will cost more money but they want to preserve the history. This is quite common and shouldn’t be a surprise that that could be the case. I’m not saying that is the case. I’m saying it could be a possibility and is not necessarily a far stretch. To scrape an existing building isn’t as costly as you might think. Remember, LSU chose not to renovate the North End Zone dorms in Tiger Stadium because the costs were prohibitive. I’ve not seen anything in anything LSU has put out stating that renovating the existing building was chosen because it was the less costly option.
Dude, you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. You haven’t seen plans and you certainly aren’t privy to any discussion of other costs options for this project.
You’re a sucker ! Nobody on this board knows what the costs options are. Everyone discussing this topic can only be speculating. That fact that you obviously have to have that explained to you, because you can’t make that deduction yourself, is all I need to know about you.

To bring a building that was built in the 1920’s into current design standards will take a shite ton of money just to get to a point where it can begin to be rebuilt with current materials. That is no small cost. I’m not sure where it is that you get your numbers from. I’d be willing to bet that building was built with asbestos type products as well. You just throw it out there that you think it’s cheaper to remodel and renovate a structure built in the 1920’s. I know a little bit about construction and architecture. I can assure you that it’s no cheap undertaking to prepare that building such that it can begin to be rebuilt with modern materials. It’s not that simple. Lot’s of demolition will be needed before the building can begin to be put back together. It’s quite possible that LSU is aware it cost more money to do it that way and have chosen to pay the additional cost to keep the existing structure. That doesn’t necessarily mean that a scrape and rebuild isn’t a feasible alternative. I’m just saying, keeping the existing structure doesn’t necessarily mean that is the cheaper option.

re: Lsu wouldn’t get a better coach if they moved on from Wade. He needs to be kept/protected
Posted by HuckFinn on 2/27/21 at 5:56 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
I agree ! If Wade’s team is struggling he doesn’t have all the pieces. He’s obviously not got what he needs to have the complete team. I do believe the man can coach. I doubt LSU can find a better coach without a much larger commitment $$$$ to the sport.

Maybe that’s my problem. I’m not really the sentimental type of guy. That old building doesn’t do anything for me. That particular spot on campus is prime realestate. I guess I like to see something more substantial there if possible. It having HPL’s name on it means nothing to me. It’s an inanimate object as I see it. Hopefully, I’m impressed with what the finished product and will proudly stand corrected. I hope that is the case.
I respectfully disagree. You could scrape that entire facility for a fraction of the cost. You could build a very large facility for $23M or $24M. That would be a nice size building. That’s a lot of money.
re: Is there a better dismantling of a former rival than Tulane
Posted by HuckFinn on 2/27/21 at 10:41 am to Big4SALTbro
It’s really Tulane’s fault that they don’t play LSU every year in football. They were pig headed and tried to force a home and home on LSU when it was statistically factual that when LSU played Tulane in New Orleans that the vast majority of the crowd were LSU fans. LSU basically gave them an ultimatum and Tulane was too stubborn to realize they were in a Lose/Lose situation.
It was a bad decision similar to the ignorant decision Tulane made to leave the SEC in 1965; because of the SEC wanting to raise scholarship limits to 140 (all sports) at the time. Tulane and Ga. Tech basically left the SEC in protest. They felt football was getting too costly so they opted to leave and become Independent rather than comply with increased scholarship limits. Notre Dame’s success as an Independent skewed their perception of reality; they weren’t Notre Dame.
