re: I need a Derby pick

It's great when a race sets up as you invision it. Damn the horse that ran his arse off was #2 Final Gambit. Full of run at the end after getting blown out the gate by Bafferts 1, and had to recover and get up into the race.

Considering the track conditions today the races have been running fair and true to form. Churchill handles the rainy conditions better than any track in the country. The races have been really good so far.

Looking at Sovereignty closing into the speed in the stretch. Journalism obviously is the horse to beat but if he gets bottled up behind the early speed I think a closer can steal it. Sovereignty is big enough to handle a 20 horse field and getting bumped around won't be a problem as long as he doesn't get trapped and they stop in front of him. Enjoy!

re: Going to concerts is overrated

I have been going to concerts since the 80's, and yes, I still go at my age. I am more selective now though after attending well over a hundred shows.
Love going to Tips back in the early 90's and seeing great acts as they were coming up, but now I dread going into New Orleans for a show and I have tickets to the Seanger in a couple of weeks to see Sierra Ferrell as well as a blues guitarist at Ground Zero in Biloxi about a month later.
I love music, especially live, however I am not sure how many shows I have left in me as I was disappointed in a act I saw last week in Gulfport even though the venue was gorgeous.
Billy is without a doubt the best in the biz currently and Tool put on a fantastic production.

Same here. Wasn't even aware of IMPAC in Gulfport. Can't wait!

I agree and thanks for adding that. I hate the neglect by Churchill on Fairgrounds.

And where do they go? If Stronach sells off Gulfstream and God forbid Santa Anita that leaves Oaklawn with no turf and Kentucky and NYRA, which at least is making some investment with the redo of Belmont. Louisiana had a stable industry due primarily to the breeders incentives. Texas has sucked every since outlawing ADW's around 15 years ago.
As a hard-core player for years it has just sucked the life out of the players and ultimately turned them off from the sport. I mean they even tore down beautiful Arlington for the Bears deal which is now in jeopardy. So disappointing!!!!

God I love the sport but it is in a complete nose dive and no one seems to care. What a damn shame.

A teaspoon of sugar will help make nicotine sickness go away.

I don't think people realize how expensive it is to have and maintain an ice surface/facility.

Did this with my FIL (RIP) twice back in the mid 90's at night. Awesome to get shot up the needle overlooking the lighted skyline. We had a blast and I'll never forget that crazy moment.

Damn I remember when the corner of Siegan and Perkins was a 4 way stop, just down the street from the Walmart, and you had to actually cross the railroad tracks.

Without a doubt one of the best live acts today. 27 strings from 5 incredible artist that make a wall of sound that I have never heard from a live act, and I have seen over a hundred live shows. I don't really care if he gets bigger as I fricking love their live shite!!!!!!
