re: Biggest LSU Football Recruiting WINS. Last day commitments. Who you got?

Ja'marr Chase. I remember we were so busy worrying about PS2 he was somewhat overlooked!

If we go 4 for 6, that includes Matthews and Perkins, I will rest easily. Also is Lewis and impact tight-end ready to play today? Is he better than Taylor? Or could we be holding out for Washington?

Honestly, who cares. He recommended from LSU. Signed with Bama. Its all a mute point. I never saw a coach go 11-11 in two years. By the end of the last two seasons, have only 53 schloarship players on the team, and recruits just can't wait to play for him over Bama, Georgia or any other top five team.

Glad to have him back!! His leadership for our younger quarterbacks will be huge!!

I'm all for the student athlete, even the transfer portal when its done right way. A player buried in the depth chart. An upper class men wanting to get playing time. But just in the case of Gilbert, a starter receiving playing time and leading the nation in receptions for all skills players. The transfer portal should put an end to emotion players just wanting to leave because of their feelings at all schools, not just LSU.

Let's hope his injury isn't that serious!! Wishing Boutte the best!!
re: Brian Thomas commit date?

Don't know his commitment date is but I know he called Saban on yesterday trying to get in their 2021 class. He only offered him a blue shirt

This goes to show the talent in Louisiana. The two best receivers in college from our home state could go top 5 and the best rookie receiver and only rookie receiver to make the pro bowl all lived within a 100 miles radius!! #PutAFenceOverTheState
re: Arik to Florida?

At this point... Who cares what he does. Kole came in, did his job, and we Won two straight games. We didnt have to force feed the ball to Kole and he is a much better and willing blocker. If a true freshman Tight end, comes in and has the 3rd most tight end targets, 5th most receptions for all tight ends, and was in the top 20 for both targets and catches in College football and he still wants to transfer... GOODBYE!!! FYI: Kole will be forever known for ShoeGate and Arik will be forever known for the play where the Bama defender took the ball from him!!!

I'm not here to bash anyone for their personal decisions and we don't know what is going on. But the optics don't look good. I'm not sure how transparent LSU, Coach O or Gilbert can be, but when half the story is circulating, they leave people to assume a lot. All we know is he played. He started. And quit.
re: Hopefully O learned his lesson from last year

No down vote here. The problem isn't processing players at the last minute to get a bigger fish. Its trying to get the lineman period. Bama has I believe four top 15 linemen that committed months ago. Nothing to process when they are already on board. We have to do what we do best. Get low four star ranked linemen and high three star linemen and develop them.

There isnt loyalty when it comes to recruiting. We lost one committed and possibly a home town safety because two receivers that were committed for almost a year decided to de-commit on signing day. Its part of the process. We have been burned by many of players and I am sure we have burned a few. Its part of the recruiting game. You win some, you lose some!!!
re: Damon Clowney

For recruits, this happens all the time. LSU isn't the first, nor will they be the last school, to pull a scholarship. Just like recruits changed their minds at the last minute (signing day), coaches do the same. The young man was still able to sign with a top D-1 school in the SEC!! He didn't lose out in anything!!!
re: taulia tagovailoa interested in transferring to LSU
Posted by edsimms2000 on 2/24/20 at 10:13 pm
Yes the starters have been better, but Joe, Who I believed had the BEST season ever in college football, couldn't start over The last three Ohio State quarterbacks and no one knew what we were getting. The difference is at LSU, we gave Joe an opportunity to show case his skills.

We forget we had to rely on a quarterback that couldn't start at Ohio State.

I'm torn on this because... I'm not so sure how Coach O feels about Parrish. If he feels that he is the future and can push Myles for the starting spot, then stay with what we have. If he believes Parrish will get passed up on the depth chart by one or both freshmen, then go get Tualia and may the best QB win the job.
re: 2 spots left

I am.hoping we have 2 spots left. My realistic wish is that we sign M. Jackson and Crawford. I don't think CamRon will be eligible
re: Is Dwight better than Burns and Johnson?
Posted by edsimms2000 on 1/4/20 at 10:28 am
I'm sure that prospect flipped (processed) on us. Oregon was promised that Burch, Burton, Jarrett and Evans would sign along with Jackson. I believe the last spot was for McKinney. Corner or safety isn't a position of NEED seeing that we signed 5 DBs last year and also the #1 corner in this class and one of the top safety in the in the country this year.
re: Is Princely Umanmielen a potential target for the staff?
Posted by edsimms2000 on 12/30/19 at 1:38 pm
Why was an LSU assistant refused access to a high school? Also it seems Rakim is more upset than Toles. If I am a high profile athlete, and you process my teammate and possible roommate, then I am gone also.

Here is my two cents on Princely, Jarrett and any other recruiter spreading these rumors...If we processed Clowney as rumored, why did his team mate, Jordan Toles stay committed. They played together for 3 years. All of this is just foolishness started by Jarrett. Kids flip and change their minds all the time. Burton was committed for almost a year, then flipped. Major Burns changed his mind three times. These are emotional teenagers with a lot of attention. Until a commit, that we so called processed or an LSU coach comes out and says this is what we did, its just rumors by attention hungry young men.
