Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia or LSU in the playoff rankings?
Arizona State is 8-1 but they lose at HOME to UCLA by a score of 62-27.
UCLA barely got by Memphis in Los Angeles, winning by 7.
Ole Miss handled Memphis by 3 TD's, 24-3.
Ohio State is getting the same treatment by the media. They lost by 2 TD's at home to ACC Coastal Division cellar dwellar Virginia Tech.
Anti-SEC bias is ruling the playoff committee

Bullschitte.
Arizona State was a FIVE TOUCHDOWN LOSER at HOME to UCLA.
Ohio State was a TWO TOUCHDOWN LOSER at HOME to the last place team in the ACC Coastal division, Virginia Tech.
There is no way that those two teams should be rated ahead of Ole Miss or Auburn, or LSU or Georgia, for that matter.
Without ASU and OSU in the "Top 10" the map of contenders has Oregon, two teams from central Texas, two from Mississippi, two from Alabama, and one from the Florida panhandle.
Those are not the demographics the beancounters at the networks want to see.

I think they can tbeat Arkansas on a neutral field. Game with Aggies would be an offensive festival.
They go 0-5 against the rest of the west.

A&M has found their qb. They'll win vs Mizzou. Tigers having a rough year on offense

Auburn---Chris Davis Deep
South Carolina--Ole Ball Coach
Florida-Where is Spurrier?
Georgia-Handoff to Hershel
Kentucky--Time for hoops
Ole Miss--Pass the bourbon
Missouri--Where are we?
A&M--What is defense?
Tennessee--Rocky Top Tennessee
LSU--Add more cayenne
Vanderbilt--We are smarter.
Mississippi State--Yes, everyone is.

re: LSU O-line vs Ole Miss D-line: weight difference:

At times it is far smaller than that.
When they two rush ends simultaneously, Marquis Haynes at 220 and CJ Johnson at 225, and DT Isaac Gross 250 and DT Robert Nkemdiche 280.
If they go with Keith Lewis and Denzel Nkemdiche at LBer they'll add 220 and 212 respectively.
Usually 5 man starting secondary weighs in at 217, 217, 176, 195 and 182. First DB off the bench weighs 170.

Someone wrote a rather stupid article and it got passed around the web.
The only real statement I have ever heard about the smell in Tiger Stadium was when I once interviewed former Ole Miss coach and player, Billy Brewer, and he related that players could smell the bourbon in the stands when they were warming up.
Back then Ole Miss tripped to Baton Rouge more often than not due to the size of Tiger Stadium and the bigger payout for the Rebels.
The corndog thing is bizarre. Some Auburn fan wrote it and we all know how things get distorted on the web

Ole Miss has better coach, quarterback, receivers, defense, punter, cheerleaders and uniforms.

Apples and Oranges.
Wallace is far more mobile than Mettenberger, but Mettenberger has the siege gun arm.
Ole Miss has to have a qb who can run some read option, while LSU does not have to rely on a qb who can run (as LSU always has a handful of big TB's running behind a bigtime OL.
Mettenberger came on to a totally loaded LSU team, while Wallace was joining an Ole Miss program that was probably at it lowest point ever.
Mettenberger was under immense pressure to lead LSU to SEC and national titles, while Ole Miss was just hoping that Wallace would initially be a workable SEC qb as a sophomore.
It's tough to compare two qbs whose only real similarity is that they were both juco bouncebacks and they both were SEC West qbs. Other than that, they had different offenses to work with, different levels of talent around them, and different expectations from the fans.
If the situation had been reversed, I doubt that Mettenberger could have gotten Ole Miss to a bowl as his lack of mobility and Ole Miss's inability to pass block consistently would have resulted in Mettenberger taking the beating of a lifetime each weekend.
Likewise, no way Bo Wallace takes LSU to an SEC title and to the national title game as a sophomore. He did not have the maturity then.
Tricky comparisons but a good question to ponder. Both qbs worked out well in the end. I think fans of both schools probably believe in their qb due to the better fit.
