To contrast, Ole Miss: 39th total offense, 109th total defense, which is last in the SEC.

Cruz is way more crooked and way worse at his job than Kiffin could ever be.

re: Will Kiffin be suspended?
Posted by LSUChamps03 on 9/10/26 at 6:51 pm to sarussell01
I have no doubt they WANT to suspend him, but I think it’s sinking in that there is no basis for it - their emotions got the best of them. LSU remained quiet and let them embarrass themselves, so now…
… they are scrambling to find some sort of rationale to penalize someone, anyone, associated with LSU in order to save face. Thing is you can’t when you’re trying to punish someone who hasn’t broken any rule.
I would guess they are asking LSU to accept some form of punishment in the “best interests of the league” from an optics standpoint. But the league just drug us over the coals, so we’re telling them to go to hell. So they’re stalling to continue to try to get LSU to accept a ding and/or to find a good answer why it’s not able to punish them for the wailing throngs begging, demanding for LSU (Kiffin) to be embarrassed.
I think it’s becoming clear the SEC knows it’s not as powerful as it thought it was. The temperature has dropped, and it’s not a good idea to run it back up. I could be completely wrong, and tomorrow they’ll issue suspensions and fines. Their statement today leads me to believe they haven’t given up. But I think a statement, especially the one they gave, could have been done without. Why call attention to your inaction when most people have already moved on?

I just love how the SEC has such a hard on for us but when it comes to Ole Miss and their 6th year senior QB they bent the knee and didn’t do shite. His arse isn’t any more legal to be playing in college than anyone else by rule. But the SEC picks and chooses who it wants to mess with.
Because as the SEC is proving now it makes decisions based on feelings. It felt sorry for OM for being rejected by LK, so they stepped aside and let the court’s action on Chambliss go unchallenged.
A well-run organization would be consistent, act per the letter of the law, and not throw a hissy fit when it’s embarrassed.

To show you how dumb the fans are of other teams in this conference, they think this is GREAT!
Of course they do. They’re too short-sighted because of their irrational hate of LK, thus LSU. Expelling LSU is essentially a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It’s honestly stunning that the SEC and member admins are even threatening something so far reaching for the supposed violations.
OM for one would LOVE not to have to face LK and LSU on the football field. They’re not as bad arse as they act, and they know it. So let’s boot LSU and destroy a decades-long relationship and historical rivalry. They’re screaming that LSU is “cheating”(!), LK tried to “burn down” OM on his way out the door, tampered, etc. They just want to avoid annual arse whippings on the football field at the hands of the coach that made them relevant for once. Spare me the moral and ethics bullshite.

I’ve joked with a buddy that we should wear plain t-shirts and just walk the campus and observe the happenings. LSU fans are going to take a ton of verbal abuse at the very least. Any fights will start when LSU fans decide to chirp back. I’m not sure I’d have the maturity to be berated and just take it.
re: I now understand more. It’s not just about the roster spots. It’s Landry, Rousse, etc

Here's the problem with the "lack of institutional control" argument: They act like it's somehow separate from the situation with the "pro" players. It's not. Because if you're making the claim of lack of institutional control, then on what basis? They didn't have a problem until all of this. So, obviously, the recent events have spurred these claims against us. If that is the case, it brings us right back to the same question we've been asking about rostering "pro" players: If LSU supposedly lacks institutional control because of this, why is the same not said about these other schools, when they have done the same things? Guess what? LSU is a state school. That means the governor IS in control to a large degree. Ideally, he lets the school handle itself and doesn't have to get involved, but the fact is that he has the legal right to be involved, whether anyone likes that fact or not. So the question isn't about who's in control, but rather what has anyone at LSU actually done wrong? To date, nothing has been demonstrated that LSU has done wrong. The courts made rulings, LSU followed the rulings, the SEC whined, LSU backed off... What am I missing? Where is the abhorrent act of defiance that the SEC would have us believe has taken place? It's not there. This is beyond bizarre. So many people thought the SEC should split from the NCAA and self-govern. Well how does that look now? They look worse than the NCAA.
This. I don’t understand what authority the SEC has to tell a public university, arm of the State, how to run its operations.
Findings of a lack of institutional control traditionally go much deeper and only after extensive investigation. The grounds on which the SEC is suggesting a LOIC exists are flimsy at best and come across as petty and vindictive.
And as has been asked ad nauseum: what rule, policy, law has LSU broken? Admittedly I’m unfamiliar with SEC bylaws, but is there some provision for penalties for “embarrassing” the league? If so, the punishments I’ve seen suggested seem over the top when you consider that LSU was acting in response to court proceedings, not unlike multiple programs in the conference. Especially when you consider the Bediako situation, it’s mind-boggling.
The fact that LSU is even being threatened with expulsion is mind-numbing. What an unprecedented move.
My hope is that there isn’t more to the story that has yet to become public. The SEC may be holding something back to use against LSU behind closed doors to compel obedience? I don’t think that is the case, and I think this is strictly the SEC testing its authority at LSU’s expense. Unfortunately I think the court is going to rule in the SEC’s favor, and at some point LSU is going to have to fight back legally. Screw Sankey, the SEC, and all of the hypocritical school admins in the league targeting a founding member and premier member over the level of the supposed wrongdoing.
Who are they to unravel 100 years of history because of hurt feelings and a cup of cold gumbo?

I don’t know if he was offered or interested, but it seems to me OM would have preferred Weis over Golding to replace Kiffin. Glad it fell the way it did.
