Because that LITERALLY happened to LSU in 2011. Only 8 SEC teams of the 12 were invited to the tournament. Despite a decent RPI of 28 (36-20, 13-17 SEC), LSU did not make the NCAAs because "they didn't make their conference tournament, why should they be in the NCAAs" even though some conferences do not have tournaments. The next year, the SEC expanded to 10 teams in the tourney, only leaving out 2 teams.

I personally now two people who gave up grandstand season tickets this year. LSU kept them. A total of 8 tickets that are used for player tickets instead of selling to new season ticket holders.

The tournament expanded a few years ago when LSU was left out of the NCAAs because they didn't make the conference tournament...despite a decent RPI. NCAA said if you can't make your conference tournament, you don't deserve to get into the NCAA no matter your record. Now, this is despite some conferences not having tournaments...

They have some strong competition for it...but they need to be ON tonight! Jade Carey is rotating with LSU so she will be going up after we go up on all apparatus. Hope LSU can do better than she does.

What is funnier is they put that it was 540 FT on the board at the game. Knew it had to be a typo.
Current rankings don't mean much. Once they start the RQS, then you can look at the rankings. Right now, they count every score. Once the RQS starts, you look at the top 6 scores, of which 3 must be road scores, drop the highest and average the other 5. A high score at this meet helps OK more than LSU.
I would think it was more likely a DH on Sunday than Friday. Friday is projected to have rain in the afternoon, like gametime. Saturday is most of the day and heavier.

On a side note, he indicated to me that a school or two put the screws to us and pulled off of our schedule. Thus, the weak non-conference slate.

If I am not mistaken, he mentioned that at coaches committee in the fall. They had to find replacement teams for 2 non-conference weekends because teams pulled off of the schedule.

It is confirmed that the colorful banners on the outfield wall are no longer. There will be solid white advertising similar to what it looks like behind home plate right now.

Are you sure it is solid white? From what he said, I assumed it was the green with white writing of the advertisers. The ball would be camouflaged on the white background. Pretty sure home plate is green with white writing of the official sponsors.

Look, CJJ isn't going to advertise his pitching rotation 3 weeks out...doesn't want to give opponents a scouting edge and also, can't assume that because someone is struggling now or super red hot, they will stay that way in 17 days.
Gee, I wonder who will be cover shot for 31 tomorrow. I have been doing same thing with my facebook profile picture. Those who know, know...those who don't, ask

2 listed at 2b and no SS...who are you expecting there and do you really think Braswell is moving to 3rd?
That has been the plan all along...3 7-inning scrimmages. More players get time to play and be tested against another school. I would be willing to bet that no one plays all 21 innings. Very few would even play 14.
It is also a case of who is having a better day. If you are less consistent on the day of the competition, you will not do as well. LSU was helped at championships by other teams faltering. LSU was consistent and hit when needed. Other teams did not. Haleigh is consistently ON. Suni had some troubles during the regular season of college and at the Olympics.
MLB draft tracker now shows:

Signing Bonus: $6.53m
Pick Value: $6.22m

He signed today.

Not sure, just asking. Is Josh Pearson not draft eligible?

Hoping he plans to play with his brother a year since John will be freshman next year.
You were spot on. I was a little surprised he didn't go higher but 1st pick of second round is nothing to shake your stick at.

Bananas sold out 3 games in March at Alex Box Stadium...there were over 160,000 people who requested tickets to those games. This was before the Firefighters started playing and before any players with ties to LSU. It is a show with baseball in the middle. You either enjoy it or you don't. I went, enjoyed it, but would never do it again based on the crowds and chaos of the getting into the game.

LSU is having kid baseball camps this week. Several players are there: Braswell, Milam, Frey, Lape, & Paul. Does anyone know why these guys aren't playing summer ball? I'm guessing injuries might be the case for at least some (Lape, Frey).

Paul also. I think that he was injured this year. It was not before the season began but I am not sure he appeared in a game this season.

Honestly, would rather see guys commit to return to A&M then to go follow their sketchy ex-coach Schlossnagle. There is no way this happened as fast as it did. It was clearly in the works before the CWS...and if he abandoned his team that quick, they are idiots to follow him.
