Wow good post from a Bama fan.

thanks, you'll see me on here more and more. i'm probably the most pessimistic fan you'll ever meet, but like to consider myself a realist. not much of a trash talker, unless someone is just classless.

after reading these forums though, it seems like a lot of the lsu fans are pretty down on the team this year. you guys have to realize that you can't have half your team go to the nfl year in and year out and expect to play for the national championship each year. lsu will be back in national title contention either next year or the year after when the young players are bit more experienced. just my opinion.

Can someone please make an animated gif of Mett walking straight past Miles and throwing his helmet down?

I literally stood up and cheered when he did that. Miles could have gotten him hurt when he had no business being in the game at that point already banged up and 3 scores down. I loved seeing him disrespect Miles like that.

it almost seemed like he kept him in there as some form of punishment. under 3 minutes remaining, 4th and 28, trailing by 21 points. the guy had been sacked 3 times straight and it was clear that the line was discouraged/not performing. it was just dangerous at that point, and mett almost paid the price for it.

i haven't seen anything regarding an injury so far though. was he alright or seriously injured?

the guy who started this thread seems like kind of a dick

Saban KNOWS we were a huge hurdle to overcome. The title is bama's.

there's some games left to be played, but i completely agree with your view of this.

the fact is that this is the toughest game year in and year out (imo) for both teams, and if there was one team to worry about more than anyone else on the road to a championship, it was lsu.

and here's a link to the moment in question:

I realized Mett got sacked 4 times but just saw the clip on SEC rant ...

think he was sacked 5 times total, on the last drive there were 4 in a row. i have no clue with the time remaining and the score why les did not take out mett. it seemed kinda stupid and dangerous.

And where the hell were the trainers???

why did none of the other players from lsu go to him as a matter of fact? the one player standing near him just stood there, didn't really go to him or try to help him up?
There is a healthy amount of fear/respect IMO when bama plays lsu. regardless of your rank or your current win/loss, it's guaranteed to be a game where both teams play like the worlds about to end.

and regarding quality of life between the two states, i don't think there's much to argue. louisiana has new orleans, mardi gras, it's own epicurean class (creole, french, etc.) a pro and college team that are in the national spotlight each season, and drive through alcohol frozen drink places (i can't remember what you guys call those.)

it has become the tendency of alabama fans to not only expect wins, but not celebrate them as much due to those expectations. at the beginning of each game they run the sound bite about how "at some places they play football. at alabama, we live it." i think that the state literally identifies itself on a national level through college football (namely auburn and bama). it is what it is.
Most nerve racking game of the season every year, and also my favorite. Alabama vs LSU seems to bring out the best performances from both teams.
This game year in and year out is really anyone's game. Two teams that always put their most into it, particularly against each other. I'm a gambling man, but I never take bets on Alabama vs. LSU.

I'm a brand new member here and have really been shocked at all the negativity of the LSU fans on their own team. That being said, I don't think anyone can accurately gauge this game.

What I mean by that is, in my opinion, the hardest game bama will play, year in and year out.

Johnny Manziels will come and go. Cam Newtons will have their day, but for a game that physically and mentally drains both teams and both sets of fans, it's this match up. I honestly believe that as good as TAMU was last year, had we not played you guys 1 week prior, it would have been a different story.

I'd like to be able to comment more from an actual film perspective, but I'm currently overseas in the sandbox, without tv (at all) and internet (90% of the time.) As such, I don't know what you're strengths or weaknesses have been this season. I do remember being surprised by a few of the scores, and downright confused at the losses.

I am a person with deep disdain for LSU, but I consider this game a rivalry better/greater than Auburn or Tennessee for Alabama. There is no other team that I respect more or recognize as a greater threat than the tigers.

As an Alabama fan I hate the idea of him leaving. That being said, I don't think anyone can accurately tell if he's staying or going. When it comes to money, I gotta believe the alumni and UoA will try to match anything Texas would offer. The fact is, he may well want that new challenge of building up another team.

He's also said his wife and family are happy where they are, and that that will make his final decision. Every year this will be a topic, and I'm more than a little shocked at how convenient this article that's been spread just happened to pop up this week, prior to this big game.

He may well leave Alabama. He may well go to Texas. Only time will tell.
hey man, my wife goes to the bama games and uses the parking links listed here. this sites maps for traffic, parking, and the shuttle info are apparently the bees' knees. i think she pays around $20 for parking, but the shuttle, even after a packed game, takes less than 15 minutes from stadium seat to car seat.

good luck.
