re: Anyone been to infield batting practice before games?

I didn’t make it in time for the book signing on Saturday but the group I go to the games with said that Skip took the time to talk to each person that stood in line, didn’t rush anybody even though he was sitting in the heat.
Skip is the best.

Anyone know if/when the seeding will be made public?

I’m of a younger generation, but I know of him. Our school has a pretty storied history, beginning with Jimmy Vidrine, the first and only 5-time state champion in LA history in the 60s.
When I was in high school, South Cameron had 4 wrestlers on the team and all 4 made the state finals. Dudes from down there are historically tough as nails.

DI public schools should do fairly well between you guys, Dutchtown, EA, among others (fairly well meaning possibly top 10 in team scores).
We can’t compete as a team but have had individual champions. Most recently in 2023, Luc Johnson at 152 lbs. And Gavin Christ a lighter weight a few years earlier won it twice in ‘18 and ‘19.
It’s the ultimate Louisiana bragging rights tournament.

Was hoping our 106 would make the finals at the public state championships to see where we are against y'all's, who I know is very good. But we got pinned in semis after leading the whole match. Our little school is taking 5 guys to the Classic. 106, 126, 175, 190, 285.
Our heavyweight may make the podium.
I’m from Basile and pretty involved in the program. We have a good team for DIII but this tournament is obviously a different animal. Looking forward to it.

Best pitching performance of the season given the circumstances.

My dad had one at one time for his small farm to protect his chickens which were free ranging most of the time. Each time my brother would come over with his little boy, who was about 2-3 years old, the dog would follow my nephew around and when he’d wander too far off into the yard, the dog would take his arm (his whole arm) gently into its mouth and guide him back to us. It was amazing to watch and my nephew would laugh every time.
They do wander though- he’d get calls from neighbors who saw his dog miles away, but he never went to get it because it always came back.

Big Ben is the best.

He may or may not have been pressing for the last couple of weeks, and has had a semi slump, but make no mistake about it—
3 wants this one.

To flip the script in the 5th. How big was that? 2 guys who weren’t sure how big their role would be on this team at the beginning of the year. Awesome for them.

Paul is a good man. You couldn’t name many better ambassadors for LSU. Seems like he is enjoying his retirement.
re: Drew Bianco TYFYS

He’s the best situational baserunner on the team and it’s not close. There’s a reason Jay always puts him in in high pressure, late game situations. He’s always looking to advance but he never puts himself in a bad position. Drew Bianco is very valuable to this team.

I thought it was fantastic also. The part where Kelly says the fans were heckling him for being fat was hilarious lmao
re: Wrestling/Football. Which south La teams have good wrestling programs?
Posted by Dirty Chuck on 1/11/22 at 1:18 pm
Basile High has always had a wrestling program and the football coach encourages his players to wrestle so we strike a good balance. We have been very successful for a 1A school. Competing in division 3 causes us to wrestle schools much bigger than us (D3 is 1A-3A) and we have won 4 state championships as a team, including 3 consecutive over the last 3 years.
The main thing as someone else said is a good youth program. Our parents and youth coaches are very involved. The kids get to high school with a ton of mat time and good coaching already. It’s pretty awesome.
