LSU vs South Carolina Tailgate

Posted by EyeOfTheTiger14 on 9/25/25 at 5:39 pm
I’m an LSU fan but have been living out of state for the past ten years and have made friends with South Carolina fans and we are planning to come to town for the game. Looking for a tailgate to possibly grab some food from and would definitely tip accordingly. There’s six of us total and just looking to show them a good time.
Please let me know if you have any lower bowl tickets available. TIA
When Joe Burrow jumps in a pool he doesn’t get wet. The water gets Joe Burrow.

I want to go back soon and try the silvers in the fall that will hit a plug or a spoon or something. Flossing for Reds is a grind. Even when you're doing well like you guys. It's still long days and lots of casting.

I can’t wait until the silvers start running. I’ve heard when you hook them on a fly rod it’s hold on and enjoy the ride. Sockeye are fun to catch because they jump around and are all over the place. Learning to floss was frustrating at the beginning but it’s not so bad now. Although, pinks have started moving in and have added yet another challenge trying to get down to the reds.

How were you fishing for them? Flossing?
Yes, flossing.
Yeah, the Saltery Creek is a 17 mile ride in on UTV’s from the American River parking lot (2 hour ride) which is just off of the main road system. The company I went with has a staging area about a half mile up the road from the parking lot.

The guides drive you regardless if guided or self guided because the terrain can be a bit extreme in certain spots. Our guide was a bad arse probably in his early thirties. He was strapped which did make us feel safe. He was talking about taking brown bear with his bow and I was like “that’s all you dawg”.

Please post about your experience, sounds like an awesome experience

Ok baws, had a trip of a lifetime to the Saltery. The fishing was top notch and the terrain we were traveling through offered many river and creek crossings, wildlife (wild horses, deer, no bears sadly), and amazing views. I dropped a link of the Lat/Long of the spot if anyone wants to nerd out a bit. By no means is this a secret spot so I’m not giving away anyone’s secret hole. The limit on sockeye just increased to 10 in the Saltery. I got 8 and my girlfriend (no pics) caught 6. Pictured is my catch. Roughly about 60 pounds of sockeye meat between the two of us. We went out with Headshakers LLC. I can’t recommend these guys enough. Super professional and immediately had us catching reds. If you ever get a chance to visit Kodiak during the sockeye run then I can’t recommend enough getting out to the Saltery!

Honey Hole Location
Flat Irons hike. The Sink for food after.
Cooper Landing. When you drive into town there’s nothing but fish processors and guide outfits everywhere. That’s how I knew I was in the right place. If not cooper landing then somewhere along the Kenai River.

How are you getting to Kodiak?
Taking a plane from Anchorage. Alaskan airlines has a couple flights a day out there. Currently living in Seward. The Saltery, Kodiak, AK this is similar to what we’re doing.
Making a trip there next week for the sockeye run and was wondering if anyone had any stories they could share of their experience.
What era of bats are we using?
