Not being a smartass, but it boggles my mind when people say things like this
Go watch the first 2 offensive series, the OL was so overwhelmed everything collapsed. LK even said that the #1 thing you want to do is fluster a QB early (which is hilarious since we have Chambliss an hour to throw every play). When your LG has a 12.6 pass blocking grade how do you set your feet? There was a play that Moore got run over, tackled the DT, and Leavitt still got sacked.
The game was moving a million miles an hour for he and the OL and the coaches for 20 mins. Being calm and sitting in the pocket while large dudes are falling all around you or trying to tackle you is a rare trait. He showed signs but wasn’t consistent. Starting mid 2nd Q, we had drives of 17 plays (TD), 3 plays (punt), 6 plays (TD), 7 plays (TD), 9 plays (short FG after stalling inside the 10), 14 plays (int in end zone)
Outside of the drive coming out of halftime, we basically moved the ball easily. But when you get into a 17 point hole, on the road, against a top 10 team, in that atmosphere, it is almost impossible to come back and win

I would say most “fans” actually don’t know that Leavitt “isn’t a terrible QB”. I have been arguing for days about it. These same ppl wanted Brennan over Burrow and Nuss over Daniels
I think we are all upset and disappointed about the OM game. However, I’m not sure why we (fans) would take anything away from that game except that we showed fight to battle back. That was the equivalent to Clemson coming into our stadium. Clemson was never going to win that game with all the emotion, and same for LSU.
Our coaches coached D- and our players followed suit until we got in a huge hole. Us battling back and tying (and we really we shoukd have been leading) was a monumental feat. Sam missed a lot of last season, all spring, getting healthy, and is coming from the sunny desert where no one really cares about football. That was the most intense situation many of these guys have been put in, and Sam proved he would lay it all on the line for LSU.
1000% passing needs to be better, but I also think the coaches need to help him settle in early. He clearly has the arm and ability, and he is fearless running. I am HOPEFUL he grows week in and week out. I terrified for the weekend because we are about to learn a ton about Sam, Blake Baker, and the season. The last 2 times we played Marcel Reed he vaulted into heisman conversation. I sure hope that has changed

The dude played in a national all star game as a JR and was the best QB by far. I guess at 17 you have to be a finished product
LSU is a powerhouse brand. Does the sec need us? No. Do we need the sec? No. Do we both benefit. Yes. (Except our schedule is awful every year)
They just don’t want to look weak after everything we put them through. So they’re going to take it to the end then probably vote to keep us by 1 and be like “This is your last chance to clean it up!” They’ll look all big and bad, and we won’t care, and then Kiffin will use it as motivation. Made a comment to some buddies when GT had the ball on their last drive how bad their coaching was. They had the ball with around 6:30 left, and moved down the field methodically. The problem was that they routinely snapped the ball between 10-15 seconds left on the play clock. Chase Daniel eventually made a comment. They had 1st down with 3:15 left and ran 3 plays. That is truly mind boggling.
They allowed Colorado to use their last timeout after a 3rd and 12. GT kicked a FG. Just the final drive alone, if you run the clock down, the 2nd down play goes to 2 min. 3rd play they get first down. You would essentially force Colorado to go 75 yards with 35 seconds or so, which would change everything and almost give them no chance.

Great get. His Louisville season was when they were absolutely horrible, but then had 2 solid years at UCLA and this past season he became a lethal shooter. He had Donovan Dent creating and opening up shots for him and that’s what led to his numbers increase.
I think Wade will look at him to be a knockdown shooter for the team. Won’t create for others or run an offense, but he’s an outstanding 3rd/4th scoring option. In terms of building a team, this is an excellent get. I don’t know he and Dent’s relationship, but hopefully they’re close and it helps with Dent

I have buddies of mine who are extremely casual fans who now are jumping off the Wade train because of these social media articles and people talking about us having 4 players. I’m genuinely confused why they care. They didn’t care when we sucked for the last several years, Will Wade has proven time and time again he is a good coach. He might not be John Wooden, but he’s a good coach and great fit for us.
So even if we swing and miss on some of these players, at least we tried to go big and not just be content being bottom of the SEC. And maybe we literally miss on everyone and we end up last in the sec. Well, probably we’re going to be there anyway, and at least Wade will have a head start for next year.
Kiffin’s offense is so dangerous because they spread the ball around, all depends on the defense. With that said, I think we will still draw up some specific plays for even when the defense is trying to stop him. There might be games he gets 3 catches and games he gets 9

Insane he is just signing with a team. RMIII would pull off dunks or blocks and you’d say “the light has come on”…next game goes 0/1 with 1 Reb 4 fouls in 12 minutes.
People say “street ball” because they don’t know ball. The game has changed to where players are so much more athletic and long and skilled, you can do more on defense. You can switch 1-5 often times. So the offenses 20 years ago with Pick n Pop or back door cuts are practically extinct. Wade has always loved an isolation/attacking basketball philosophy.
People think Cam Thomas getting the ball on the wing and going 1v1 is street ball. Or Javonte at the top of the key. Same with Tari. But that’s finding a mismatch on the court and utilizing it.
You have to have correct spacing off of that and try to see the movement when it’s there. Marlon Taylor was elite at that. Tremont would go 1v1 and Marlon would sneak on that baseline for an alley oop. It might not be super tactical X’s and O’s but there is still a lot of nuances to it

Haven will be an extremely long line of guys who are overrated because of their “upside”..but they ignore things that actually make QBs good. Decision making, accuracy, quick release, fundamentals
There are so so many QBs the last 5 years who are 6’4+ and can run and disappear immediately in college.

As your #12 player it is fine. Put a guy from the Rec on the team and he will be worse than him. So, actually, it does help us
