Tennessee Loses Quarterback To The Transfer Portal

Tennessee redshirt freshman signal-caller Jake Merklinger is planning to enter the transfer portal, according to reports.

The former four-star recruit from Savannah, Ga., appeared in two games in 2024 and four games this past season.

Merklinger competed for the starting job this past offseason but ultimately lost the role to transfer Joey Aguilar.
