South Carolina back-up QB Tanner McEvoy was arrested on Sunday in North Carolina and charged with speeding and driving after consuming while under age 21. South Carolina spokesman Steve Fink said McEvoy is suspended from the team per program policy. The Gamecocks open fall practice Friday night. McEvoy did not play last season, sitting out the year as a redshirt. He is expected to compete for a backup role behind starter Connor Shaw.
