The Tennessean.com is reporting that Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Karl Dorrell has reportedly been fired after just one season on Derek Mason’s staff.

Mason promised to make changes soon following a 24-17 loss to Tennessee on Saturday, ending a 3-9 season and 0-8 SEC mark — the Commodores’ first winless conference campaign since 2009.
“I’ve got an idea of what I’m going to do, but I need to take a couple of days and sit back and think about this season,” Mason said on Saturday. “I’ve taken a lot of notes this season and looked at things in the program across the board in a season’s worth of work and what we’ve gone through.
“… I think when those changes come, we can all rest assured you will be proud and believe in the changes that I’ll make moving forward.”
